The Climbing Axe was a tool players used to climb rock walls, and progress certain cave areas. However, it is not currently in the Sons of the Forest. But, don’t be fooled, as the item was spotted in the promotional material for the game’s extended backpack image. We also know that the devs are still to add more caves and expand on features, so, perhaps this item will get added later on in the Sons of the Forest Early Access period. It will also come in handy for scaling awkward mountain ranges on the map, making traversing the mountains much easier.

The Binoculars are an equipment tool that players can find as of the first major update on March 9, 2023. The item is found on the Kayak beach, alongside the camouflage Outfit. This tool will allow players to zoom in when they are equipped in your hands.

A useful item for opening food cans. Found on the floor of an Abandoned Camp.

The Night Vision Goggles was added to the game in the Patch 03 update on April 6, 2023.

The Night Vision Goggle are a battery powered light source, which will allow players to see easier in the dark. This makes it very good for visibility at night, while also being difficult to see, granting better stealth options as opposed to the Lighter or the Flashlight.

The location of the Night Vision Goggles in the Sons of the Forest is inside the cave with the dead skeleton on a chair.
