Iulian is a nobleman, one of the few Brencis spared. He pledged allegiance and became Boyar Ambrus’ vassal. This meant Iulian could keep his status and possessions.

But nonetheless, Iulian wishes the boyar dead. He knows, even though officially Brencis disapproves of feeding directly from humans, Ambrus feasts on his subjects whenever he pleases. Iuilian intends to use that to his advantage, killing his master by poisoning the blood of the vrakhir’s next victim.
