Be swift and merciless in your retaliation. Be ruthless. Make sure that the one who wronged you realises his terrible mistake. There can be no doubt in your heart – only a cold understanding of what must be done. Answer violence with violence, but do so tenfold. Not only will your original assailant be punished, but many shall be dissuaded from even considering doing you wrong. And once you’ve made sure of that, you will be able to return to being a good neighbour again.
