Oh, God… Is this the end of the world?!

When I got the commission, I felt like the luckiest person alive. My frescoes on the ceiling of Svartrau Cathedral – a dream come true. It was supposed to be my lifetime achievement!

And now… It’s as if the ghastly figures from the danse macabre had come to life before my eyes! The monsters that killed the knyaz! Fed on his blood, people say. And they’re not stopping! We have to flee, before they get us all!

I found a transport – paid the soldiers a fortune to let me go with them. But that’s fine. I wouldn’t take the money with me to the grave, would I?

I just pray to God that we manage to reach the Northern Cleft bridge in time… Why the hell are we moving so slowly?!
