Letter from Farkas

Master Coen,
First and foremost, I must offer my apologies for the manner in which I parted ways with you. My behaviour was unsavoury, to say the least, and I see that clearly now. It was my younger brother, Dusan, who actually brought me back to my senses. He practically screamed in my face that he never wished for me to use that accursed ring or anything else that came from that madman, Bakir.
Dusan is improving, little by little. His legs remain unchanged, of course, but his mind and spirit are beginning to mend. He has started to speak more freely now, using more than just the two or three frightened words at a time.
Regarding our inheritance, I no longer have any hope of reclaiming it. We have settled in a modest cottage in Parlita. While it may not look like much, after two long years, we’ve regained our lives, which, to me, is worth more than any lost title or land.
Lastly, I simply wish to thank you, Coen. For everything.
