Another lovely day in the pit.
The new vein runs deep, but it’s harder to mine with every strike. The mountain itself seems to groan louder each day, as if warning us. The overseer doesn’t care for excuses, though. We must clear the lower shaft and haul the ore to the carts before he makes his rounds. After all, the collector waits for the tithe.
Tomorrow we’ll bring more timber to brace the tunnel. If it holds, we’ll earn our pay. If not… Well, I hope the overseer joins us when it all comes crashing down.
