Parable of the Wolf and the Shrew, part 3

‘Now, mighty Wolf,’ said the Shrew, ‘I wouldn’t dare do such a thing!’ And, as a show of good faith, the Shrew offered to give the Wolf not ten, but twenty drops of blood! The Wolf was pleased… But the drops were even smaller than before.

Know this, then: while little Shrews shall always pay when they call upon the Wolf, and the Wolf shall always demand his fare. He can be outsmarted, but don’t push your luck – for if he catches you, he may decide to eat you whole.
