The Devil has won. People have given their souls freely unto him, with not even a peep from most. They bleed and drink the cursed vrakhir ichor in surrender.

I shan’t ever befoul myself this way. If death is my only escape, then so be it. I shall venture deep into the mire, until something or someone claims my life. If you find my body, and read this note, please say a prayer for my soul – may it reach St. Peter’s Gate and be deemed worthy.
