Meet Vicho
Vicho’s store is only open at night, so you’ll need to wait for the sun to go down before you can interact with him and add A Study in Crimson to your journal. While you can solve the mystery during this quest, you can always follow up with The Good Samaritan to confront Vicho with your new findings.

Uncover who murdered Vicho's friends
During the events of The Good Samaritan, you can decide Vicho’s fate once he discovers the truth about the murders. If you plead with him to stay alive, the Unquenchable Thirst quest is automatically added to your journal.

Supply Vicho with blood each night
All vrakhir are cursed with the need for blood, and every night you can help Vicho with his problems by supplying him with blood. Unlocking the Unquenchable Thirst quest also unlocks an achievement for your troubles.
