Rescue Zelda.

• Sheik’s true identity was revealed as Princess Zelda of Hyrule. Link received the sacred light arrows, but Ganondorf kidnapped Zelda.

Head into Ganondorf’s Castle.

• As Link stood frozen before Ganondorf’s Castle, he heard the voice of Rauru: “Hero Link—save Princess Zelda, imprisoned within, and defeat Ganondorf. “ And with that, the power of the sages created a bridge to the castle.

Destroy the barriers in Ganondorf’s Castle. Areas of evil power to cleanse:

• Link entered Ganondorf’s Castle and found Ganondorf’s tower protected by barriers. Rauru said, “The evil power maintaining the barriers flows from six locations. Cleanse each area of its evil, and the barriers will come down.”

Head further into Ganondorf’s Castle.

• Link cleansed the evil power at all six locations with his light arrows. The barriers surrounding Ganondorf’s tower vanished, and Rauru spoke again: “Princess Zelda’s fate— and the fate of all Hyrule—rests in your hands.”

Defeat Ganondorf.

• After bringing down the barriers around the central tower, Link reached the top floor and found Ganondorf waiting. Navi recoiled at the darkness emanating from him. The battle that would decide the fate of Hyrule had begun.

Escape Ganondorf’s Castle.

• Link defeated Ganondorf, who then attempted to bring the castle down on Link and Zelda.

Investigate the source of the sound.

• Link and Zelda attempted to escape Ganondorf’s Castle. They survived the falling keep and its monsters to get outside. Ganondorf’s ambitions had crumbled with his castle. However, an ominous sound echoed…

Save Hyrule.

• Ganondorf emerged from the rubble and was transformed into the Demon Beast, Ganon, by the uncontrollable Triforce. Link’s Master Sword was knocked away, and a life-or-death battle began.
