You may remember that machine in the woods where you first encountered Whisper, correct? That is the Crank-a-kai machine and it’s possible to get some Yokai from it. The machine will only accept special coins that you can get throughout your adventure and you’re not always guaranteed a Yokai from using one of those coins. You will be able to use the machine starting with the Enter Jibanyan! chapter of the story and can only use it a total of three times per in-game day.
