The Riddle of the Will is one of three conundrums posed by the sphinx to instruct you on what constitutes a life. It asks you to find an article bearing “the will to defy ruin.”

Starts after reaching the sage.
Required to complete and progress Seeking the Sage’s main story quest.
Speak the villagers to learn more.
It takes you to the Northern Stronghold. Enter where you battled the boss the first time, and pickup a Brooch from the floor.
From there, escape and return to the Seer to complete the quest.
