Pre-War:

• The quarry was known for its unsafe conditions, with numerous accidents and deaths. Workers were treated poorly, and safety measures were neglected.
• The management was actually seeking access to an underground temple rather than focusing on marble quarrying.

Post-War:

• After the war, the quarry was repurposed by the Forged, a group of raiders. They aimed to collect scrap metal from the site, but rumors of hauntings complicated their efforts.
• Bedlam, a lieutenant of the Forged, was sent to investigate the disappearances of workers and address the feral ghoul threat.

• The quarry’s entrance is guarded by raiders, including one in power armor. Inside, there are traps, terminals, and ghoul-infested areas.
• Deeper into the quarry, there’s a ritual chamber with disturbing scenes reminiscent of Lovecraftian horror.
• There’s also an underwater chamber where players can find unique loot, including Kremvh’s Tooth, a unique weapon.

• Players can find valuable items such as mini nukes, holotapes, and unique weapons scattered throughout the quarry.
• Collecting resources like oil can also be beneficial.

The Dig, an underground labyrinth, is part of Bobbi No-Nose’s ambitious project during The Big Dig in 2287. Initially purported to lead to Mayor McDonough’s office in Diamond City, the tunnels actually extend to the NH&M Freight Depot, owned by John Hancock.

This network of dirt tunnels and buried subway sections contains fragile walls that, when activated, prompt a temporary companion to clear a path. The journey involves navigating feral ghoul and mirelurk-infested areas. Options arise between paths, leading to a brewing facility and a strongroom.

• Fusion Cores: Found in generators, one in the initial room and another behind an Expert-locked security gate along the western route to the brewery.
• Partial Set of Leveled Power Armor: Concealed behind a fragile wall in the first room.
• Overdue Book: Located in a train on the first subway platform.
• Nuka-Cola Quantums: Obtainable from a crate above a junction along the path to the brewery.

• Designed by Justin Schram, who aimed for subtle environmental cues to guide players through rubble and lighting.
• Originally envisioned with a more interactive, “Minecraft-y” layout, the dungeon’s development concluded with Schram satisfied with its outcome.
