Bedford Station, once a pre-War train switching station servicing Thicket Excavations, is now infested with feral ghouls. This location served as a site for a synth rescue mission orchestrated by the Railroad, which ultimately went awry.

Pre-War:
Bedford Station operated as a train switching station for transporting goods from the nearby quarry at Thicket Excavations. It was a vital part of the transportation infrastructure in the area.

Post-War:
Now overrun by feral ghouls, the station is a dangerous place to navigate. It was also the site of a failed synth rescue mission, where the Railroad’s agent, Dutchman, attempted to aid a synth, A9-51, in escaping from unknown assailants.

The station features a ruined southbound train on north to south running tracks. Ghouls roam the platform, with the highest level ones often near an explosive container. Dutchman’s body lies near the tracks, while Helena’s body leans against the water tower.

However, it became the subject of investigation by the United States Army due to ration shortages. The site received supplies via a rail line connected to the NH&M Freight Depot nearby.

Originally, a pair of community basketball courts and a railway unloading depot were repurposed by the Boston Police Department to establish the rationing station, aiming to aid the destitute with essential goods. Despite security efforts by the United States Army Reserve and distribution responsibilities falling under the 3rd Precinct of the BPD, corruption prevailed. Detectives Francis Perry and John Reise colluded to hoard supplies for the black market, ultimately resulting in their demise and the abandonment of the site.

Exterior:

The site comprises a yard adjacent to a railway and a section of a train.
Accessible structures include a small two-story warehouse and a trailer checkpoint west of the warehouse.
Notable features include basketball courts, a bus stop, and remnants of a van and coupe.
Containers and shipping equipment litter the area, with a cargo train parked nearby.

Warehouse:

The warehouse contains various shipping crates, a locked steamer trunk, and access to the Mass Pike Tunnel’s utility tunnels.
Entry can be achieved by jumping onto the roof or dislodging a barred door.
Interior features include a Protectron pod, terminal, and storage areas on both floors.

Utility Tunnel:

The tunnel houses a chemistry station and a power armor station.
