Shrines - not to be confused with altars - are important religious sites usually located atop mountains in Ghost of Yotei. The approaches to these pilgrimages are often fraught with peril, inaccessible to anybody without superhuman agility like Atsu, who can brave the damage caused by neglect and nature to reach the lofty shrine. Fall’s Rest Shrine can be found along the southeastern edge of the Yotei Grasslands.
You’ll know you’re getting close when you start seeing Torii Gates along the road.
Fall’s Rest Shrine Location¶
This shrine can be found in the southeastern edge of the Yotei Grasslands region. From Atsu’s home, head south along the edge of Lake Shikotsu, past the Home of the Storyteller on a hill to the west of the road, then at a fork turn southeast - if you see Torii gates along the road heading into the mountains, you’re nearby, but the Golden Bird should show up to remove any trace of ambiguity.

Fall’s Rest Shrine Summit Direction¶
When you’re close you’ll find Torii gates over the trail leading up to the mountains where this shrine is located, but the intended path won’t get you very far, as some of the stone steps leading up into the mountains have been destroyed. The directions to the summit from here are as follows:
- From the stone steps, turn right and climb a cliff.
- Climb a ledge, go through another Torii gate, up some stairs, then turn left before another Torii gate to find another cliff you can climb.
- Grapple a tree stump to reach a higher ledge
- Climb a cliff ahead and to the right
- Turn right and climb a ledge near a brazier
- Jump and grapple across a pit near another brazier
- Continue forward, jump a pit and climb a cliff
- Jump, grapple and swing across another pit
- Climb a cliff
- Continue forward and left to find another cliff you can scale
- Jump off a cliff and grapple to climb another cliff
- Continue to the edge of the ledge you’re on to find a branch you can jump onto - provided Atsu’s smart enough to grab it (not guaranteed)
- From the tree branch, jump forward and grapple to scale another cliff
- Climb a cliff to the right and a second cliff dead ahead
- Climb a ledge to the right, continue forward to find a boulder, then turn left to find a tree branch you can grapple and swing from to cross a pit
- Turn right and jump a gap and grapple to ascend to a higher ledge
- Climb a cliff ahead of you
- Turn left and squeeze through a cleft, pass through a cave, then exit the other side
- Turn right and jump forward + grapple to reach a higher ledge
- Turn right and climb a cliff, then turn right to climb a second, shorter cliff.
- Head up some stairs to the left, then down more stairs to the left to reach the summit - the shrine is to the left.
Pray at the shrine to obtain the Charm of Kanayago, which will increase the amount of metal and gunpowder you get while scavenging.
Charm of Kanayago¶
Reaching the summit and praying at the shrine will get you the Charm of Kanayago, a major charm that increases the amount of common and rare metals and black powder collected when scavenging. A good companion to the Charm of Bountiful Harvest.
