Grand Theft Auto VI launches on Thursday, November 19, 2026 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Boxed copies reach stores a week earlier, on November 12, for pre-loading. Rockstar Games has confirmed on November 6, 2025, that GTAVI will be releasing on November 19, 2026, for the Playstation 5 and Xbox Series S/X. Boxed copies will not include a disc, instead having a code-in-a-box, and they will release a week early so players can pre-load the game. Is GTA 6 coming to PC?

There is no PC version at launch and Rockstar has not announced one. A PC release is widely expected later, likely in 2027 or 2028, but no date is confirmed. There is no PC release for GTA VI at launch, but going off of the history with previous games, there is precedent that it will launch on PC down the line. GTA V reached PC about 18 months after consoles, and Red Dead Redemption 2 about 13 months after.

Rockstar confirmed pricing alongside pre-order details in June 2026. The Standard Edition ($79.99) is available as a boxed code-in-box copy or a digital purchase; the Ultimate Edition ($99.99) is digital only and bundles extra in-game content. Those are the only two editions available.

What is in the GTA 6 Ultimate Edition, and is there a Collector's Edition?

The $99.99 Ultimate Edition adds bonus vehicles, personalized weapons, apparel and tattoos, and two exclusive in-game shops (Rideout Customs and Sara's Salon). There is no physical Collector's Edition. Ultimate Edition includes a number of things: extra vehicles such as a '95 Grotti Cheetah, a Shitzu Squalo and a '67 Vapid Dominator Buggy, plus exclusive apparel, tattoos and Ultimate-only shops. If you had purchased the normal edition, there is an option you can buy to upgrade to the Ultimate Edition. Rockstar is not selling a boxed Collector's Edition. When can I pre-order GTA 6, and what is the pre-order bonus?

Pre-orders opened June 25, 2026. Both editions include the Vintage Vice City Pack as a pre-order bonus. Rockstar opened up pre-orders for GTA VI on June 25, 2026. If you pre-order the game, you will receive the Vintage Vice City Pack, which includes a '55 Vapid Stanier sedan and an Ocean Beach garage, plus vintage outfits and hairstyles for Jason and Lucia and a period weapon pattern. It applies whether you buy Standard or Ultimate, across the Rockstar Store, PlayStation Store, Xbox Store and participating retailers.

Does the GTA 6 physical copy come with a disc?

In addition to that area, there will be more areas to explore, such as the Leonida Keys, Grassrivers, Port Gellhorn, Mount Kalaga National Park, and Ambrosia. The story will follow the relationship between Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos, as they are pulled into a deeper life of crime. There are two main characters in GTA VI, who are Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos. They were confirmed when Trailer 2 released in May 2025. It's unclear if you'll be able to switch between them at will, like with the characters in GTA V, though. Jason "wants an easy life, but that keeps not working out for him." He grew up around crooks, joined the Army to escape a troubled youth, and after service ended up working for drug runners in the Keys, where his landlord and employer is fellow runner Brian Heder. Luicia's father taught her to fight as soon as she could walk, and fighting for her family is what landed her in prison. Trailer 2 opens on her release, with Jason waiting, making her exit from incarceration the story's starting point.

Does GTA 6 connect to GTA 5 or share a universe?

It's not clear if this game will connect to any of the others. It's not entirely clear if there will be any connections to previous games in Grand Theft Auto VI.l The universes are designed so that storylines and physically appearing characters do not overlap, and Rockstar has confirmed no returning GTA V characters.

Rockstar has officially named six regions of Leonida: Vice City, the Leonida Keys, Grassrivers, Port Gellhorn, Ambrosia, and Mount Kalaga National Park. For the first time in the series, Rockstar named multiple regions before launch. Vice City is the neon metropolis (tagline "Everything in Excess"). The Leonida Keys are a tropical island chain ("Gateway to Paradise"). Grassrivers is the Everglades-style wetland and home of hunting, fishing and alligators. Port Gellhorn is a faded Gulf-coast town ("Leonida's forgotten coast"). Ambrosia is the agricultural and industrial heartland by Lake Leonida. How big is the GTA 6 map compared to GTA 5 and RDR2?

Rockstar has not released an official map size. Unofficial guesses by the community have it as 1.5 to 2.5 times the map in GTA V. No official square-mileage figure exists; Rockstar has only said Leonida is its "biggest, most immersive" world yet. Fan analysts measuring the trailers and screenshots estimate somewhere between about 1.5x and 2.5x the size of GTA V. Any speculation you see out there is just that, speculation.

What wildlife and animals are in GTA 6?

It's unclear if you will be able to do anything with wildlife, but some (like alligators) have appeared in trailers. Rockstar's trailers show alligators in the wetlands and even wandering into urban areas, and the region is billed as home to deadlier predators. Hunting and fishing are supported, and an in-world wildlife regulator (Protection of Animals & Controlled Hunting, or POACH) has been referenced.

Given GTA Online is still very popular, there is a high chance of Rockstar introducing a multiplayer component later on, although it might become a separate entity and not be included with GTA VI. An official Rockstar site update pointed to activities and deep customization: styling hair, facial hair, makeup, nails and tattoos, property and garage ownership, and vehicle mods. Rockstar's official screenshot and site update surfaced customization for your characters' looks and tattoos, property ownership including Jason's safehouse, and vehicle customization with performance and cosmetic mods. The Ultimate Edition and Pre-Order Pack indicates that you'll be able to customize both of the main characters.

Rockstar has not confirmed any frame rate. Rockstar has made no official statement on frame rate or graphics modes. Any confirmation out there is purely speculation by fans and other outlets.
