It took General Kael and General Amon eight days of ceaseless battle, with more than two thousand men, most of whom have died in the fighting and now lost to the abyss, to bring low but one of the hideous fiends.

Only one!

How may such a thing be? How may we stand against such horrors, when two of our finest commanders now swear never to face them again? This is no mere defeat, it is calamitous!

And yet, perhaps, all is not lost.

I have sent forth our spies to reclaim the carcass. It lies hidden within a Traditionalist keep, on the outskirts of Metaron. Fortune favors us, as we need not travel far.

Perhaps, within the corpse of this fell beast, we may glean some knowledge.
