One of the newly sworn Blood Guards, Yanos by name, has deserted his post. We have questioned his mother, but she insists she has not seen him in many months. Her loyalty appears genuine, though we remain on guard.
A modest bounty has been placed upon his head. In time, he will be found – and punished by death, as the law demands.
