There is a thief about. Yes, the same one I mentioned last month, but now I know I’m not being paranoid. I’ve seen the pest skulking around the scriptorium at night, looking for a way in, or maybe checking what will fetch the best price.

I honestly don’t know what he wants to nick from here, but I need you to make sure nothing goes missing. Codrin’s already up my arse about the supplies we lost, and I don’t think our good boyar will get rid of him anytime soon like we’d hoped, so I’ve still got to lick those noble boots if I don’t want to starve come winter.
