Stronger Than Achilles

Description

The Font of Life is deeper down the ruined complex – we know that for sure now. We also know that in order to reach it, we’ll have to pass some sort of trials.

Objectives

Objective	Text
Return to Anca during the day	In order to go deeper into the ruins, I need to be able to cast hexes – so I’ve got to come back during the daytime. Anca said she’d wait here – so I’d better check if there are any monsters about.
Complete the trials and exit the ruins	We’ve found the heart of the ancient ruin, and the trials awaiting within. We must complete them, and then leave, before this whole place collapses on our heads.
Investigate the idol	We’ve reached a dead end – but there’s an unsettling idol in the middle of the room, and I bet it’s there for a reason.
Withstand the trial	In order to proceed, I need to withstand pain… An awful lot of pain. I can do it!
Find a way forward	We’re stuck – the bridge leading ahead is collapsed. But I don’t give up easily – there must be a way around it.
Explore the hidden chambers	We got inside chambers which seem to have been hidden from those participating in the trials. Interesting… We need to find a way back to the main complex, though.
Investigate the inscribed tablet	Stuck again… But I bet the tablet with magic markings is key to finding a way forward. Let’s take a look at it.
Activate the runes using Astral Communion Witchcraft Ability	The inscribed tablet thrums with magic – now I need to unleash it with the right hex.
Survive the trial	The statues – they’ve come to life! And they want me dead. I guess that’s the nature of this trial – to survive the onslaught.
Inspect the chamber with Focus Mode	Is this it – the Font? But how does it work? We need to look around for clues to figure this out.
Talk to Anca in order to leave	We did what we came here for – let’s look around a bit and then let Anca know once I’m ready to head back. There’s a lot we need to unpack, for sure.
Clear out the ruins for Anca	Anca asked me to clear the ruins, so she can wait for me in safety.

1	Oh, no, no, no. I left Anca behind in the ruins – and now she’s dead. Something must’ve crawled out of the rubble and killed her. Shit!
2	We found the Font… And it looks like it was fed by the blood of fallen heroes. Not what we expected – but I need every possible advantage to win with Brencis, so I decided to use it. Felt vile – but I’m stronger, now, no doubt, and my conscience was stained to begin with.
3	We found the Font… And it looks like it was fed by blood of fallen heroes. Not what we expected – but still, it was what Anca needed to solve her problems. I let her use the Font – I will find a way to defeat Brencis anyhow.
4	We found the Font… And it looks like it was fed by blood of fallen heroes. Not what we expected – not what we wanted. I resisted the temptation to use this vile thing and destroyed it instead.
5	No time to see this through – I’m off to confront Brencis.
