Description

Young women are going missing in the valley and according to a group of soldiers, Xanthe is behind it. I can use their bizarre lantern to get inside the boyaress’s keep and investigate the matter.

Retrieve the lantern	Xanthe’s commander left the lantern needed to enter her keep for me to grab, should I decide to help them after all. I can retrieve it from the hiding spot.
Deal with Xanthe	Xanthe, Brencis’s oldest vrakhiri ally, stands in my way. I need to find a way to deal with her.
Get to the mansion	The mysterious lantern from the soldiers will allow me to enter Xanthe’s keep and find out what she’s doing in there.
Give the lantern to the statue	There’s a creepy statue by the entrance to Xanthe’s keep. I should put the magical lantern in its extended hand to open the door.
Figure out the lantern’s purpose	I found a bizarre lantern bearing Xanthe’s symbol. It’s clearly magical – I should figure out what it’s meant to do.
Find Xanthe	I’ve entered Xanthe’s keep – now I should try to find the boyaress herself.
Find a way to enter the locked room	There is a locked room in Xanthe’s keep with weird humming coming from within. According to the mad servant – no one is allowed to enter. Therefore, I must.
Enter the locked room	I have enough lanterns to open the door to the locked room upstairs. It’s time to see what’s inside.
Kill Xanthe	Xanthe has found me. Good. It’s time to make her pay for the atrocities.
Investigate the painted door	The mad servant mentioned a ‘painted door’ upstairs in the keep that no one is allowed to open. I should go see what she meant.
Wait for an opportunity	Attacking the boyaress blindly would be foolish. But there might come a time when a smart solution to the Xanthe problem will present itself.

Outcomes

Outcome	Text
1	Xanthe offered me a deal for sparing her life and I took it.
2	I got inside Xanthe’s keep and put an end to her atrocities. No more Sangoran girls will die for her sick experiments.
3	I didn’t have the time to find Xanthe and deal with her. If she stands in my way at some point, I’ll cut her down all the same.
4	In the end, I simply found Xanthe in the cathedral and killed her right there. She’s no longer a problem.
