For those venturing through the Revelwood, you’ll need to find many items for alchemy, crafting, and upgrading your flame level to the next stage. Goo is one of those items that is used for both alchemy and for the flame upgrade. Unlike most other resources, you will need to craft this item yourself using a range of resources at the Alchemist craftsperson in your camp. Yet, you need to complete certain feats before you can craft it. Here’s everything you need to know on how to get Goo in Enshrouded.

A guide on how to unlock the Goo recipe in Enshrouded and what it is used for.

How to Make Goo in Enshrouded

To get Goo in Enshrouded, you must complete the quests for the Alchemist. You will need to go and find the Alchemist’s Mortar by following the clues the Alchemist left around the world. One will eventually lead you to his Mortar, which will be in the Lone Thistle, a POI village in the Shrouded regions to the east of the Farmer Ancient Vault and north of Mistbury Catacombs. Once you’re there, you’ll find the Mortar inside one of the buildings at the very eastern tip of the village. Collect the item and return it to your base.

You’ll find the Mortar in a POI called Lone Thistle, located in one of the basements on the east side of the Shroud-riddled village.

With the item in your base and placed, you must go to the Alchemist and craft yourself some Bug Dust, using Critter Parts. This then unlocks the Goo for you to craft from his recipe book.

To craft it, you will need the following items:

  • 1x Dirt
  • 1x Shroud Liquid
  • 1x Bug Dust

You then need to create 15 to have enough for the Flame Upgrade at your base.

For the remaining part of Revelwood, Goo is not needed for anything else. However, as your journey heads into the Highlands, you will start finding more recipes to use the Goo with, such as the newly craftable Stun Arrows. So, keep a healthy stockpile of Goo or Critter Parts for any future needs you may have for Goo as you get into the mid to late game of Enshrouded. This sums up the basics of how you get and use Goo in Enshrouded. If you need any more guides for other Flame level 3 items that are somewhat mysterious, here’s a closer look at Enshrouded’s Copper Ore, Amber, and Indigo Plant locations.

Enshrouded is a survival game where you play the role of a Flameborn, the last hope of a dying race of Ancients and their Human allies. You’re one of the few beings who can withstand the deadly Shroud, which smothers much of the land as a pathogenic fungi. As you seek to destroy the Shroud you’ll encounter monstrous enemies that are born from it, but also other types in the form of Scavenger bandits, the Vukah warrior clan, and more. Whether you choose to focus on building your dream base, defeating some of the most difficult bosses, or exploring whimsically to your heart’s content, this guide covers all of it with the following sections:
