One could learn a lot from the various regions of a Grand Theft Auto game, like Las Venturas in San Andreas (inspired by real-life Las Vegas) or the plenty of rural areas across the series. We’ve learned that GTA VI will feature a total of six main areas across its map, which will likely be split into smaller sections for each of the main regions. The map’s six primary regions for the game will be Vice City, the Leonida Keys, Port Gellhorn, Ambrosia, Grassrivers, and Mount Kalaga National Park. We have a brief description of each of the main areas, via the official site, as well as a slightly more in-depth idea behind them with the Game Informer article.
Vice City will likely be modeled after the real-life counterpart of Miami, which will be the hustle and bustle of a large city. Each of the neighborhoods will have something to offer, which can include congested roadways, scenic beaches and even the VC Port. The Leonida Keys is the more resort-like area, complete with the easier life and packed bars. Grassrivers is the equivalent of the Everglades, meaning it will be the wetlands and filled with all sorts of dangers, like the familiar alligators and maybe even more unknown creatures. Of course, animals won’t be the worst of it, as you might encounter some backwater personnel.
Once a tourist attraction, Port Gellhorn is anything but that now. Cheap motels, shut-down attractions, and empty strip malls are what you’ll find here. Those looking to sightsee might be in for some traps here. In Ambrosia, you have the industrial area of the map, filled with factories and refineries. The Allied Crystal sugar refinery has the jobs, while the local biker gang runs just about everything else. Lastly, Mount Kalaga is a national park at the northern end of the state, offering hunting, fishing, and all other manner of outdoor activities. Of course, you’ll also encounter those types looking to get away from the prying eyes of the government, so be careful.
