Basic Spells - Hogwarts Legacy Database

Basic attack spell.

This is reserved for your regular attack spell and one you’ll use most often throughout your adventure. The following Talents enhance this spell:

• Basic Cast Mastery (Core Lv 5): Basic Cast impacts reduce spell cooldowns.
• Basic Cast Airborne Absorption (Core Lv 16): Basic Cast impacts on airborne enemies contribute more to the Ancient Magic Meter.

• During the prologue “The Path to Hogwarts”, you will learn this spell to open the magical barrier that blocks your path.

Reveals hidden objects, passages, and other secrets.

• Unlocks automatically during the prologue quest “The Path to Hogwarts” after following the spell chants.

Creates a shield that deflects incoming spells.

• Unlocks automatically during the prologue quest “The Path to Hogwarts”, during the combat with the statues inside the chamber.

Stuns a target, leaving them unconscious.

• Unlocks automatically during the prologue quest “The Path to Hogwarts”, after the second battle inside Vault 12.

Summons special objects to throw at the target.

• During the Main quest “Welcome to Hogsmeade” when fighting the Troll that attacks the village, you will automatically learn this spell.

Deals massive damage and breaks Shield Charms.

You can upgrade your Ancient Magic bar by finding all of the Ancient Magic Hotspots out in The Highlands.

• During the Main Quest “Welcome to Hogsmeade”, you will automatically learn this spell during the fight with the Troll who attacks the village.

Used to open up locks.

You will learn Alohomora from Hogwart’s caretaker - Gladwin Moon - as the fifth part of the Main Quest as he sends yuo on a hunt for Demiguise Statues.

Alohomura will initially allow you to pick Level I Locks, but you must learn more advanced versions of the spell in order to pick Level II Locks and Level III Locks.

• Learned from Gladwin Moon during the Main quest “The Caretaker’s Lunar Lament”. This quest is unlocked after finishing Percival Rackham’s Trial and reaching level 14.

Temporarily immobalizes the enemy.

• Learned automatically during the Main Quest “Percival Rackham’s Trial”.
