This page offers a guide on how to record items for the Witch’s Encyclopedia in Little Witch in the Woods.
What is the Witch’s Encyclopedia
The Witch’s Encyclopedia is a book that Ellie carries around that holds information on all the recipes she’s learned as well as information on creatures and plants. You’ll want to record every new plant and creature you find in order to fill out the encyclopedia.
How to Use Your Quill
Once you’ve been to see the Shining Tree atop the mountain, you’ll unlock the option to fill out your Witch’s Encyclopedia by drawing different creatures and plants. To do so, you’ll first need to equip your quill, and then approach the subject. If it’s a creature, you’ll want to maintain some distance so as not to scare it away.
It’ll take a couple of seconds of drawing before the interact wheel is completely full, but after that’s done you can open up your encyclopedia and view information on the newly recorded specimen.
So, every time you see a new plant or a new creature, make sure to first equip your quill so you can learn about it. Some creatures and plants will only spawn at night so you’ll need to explore every area both in the day time and the nigh time! And some creatures and plants (like insects and pollen emitting plants) can only be collected with nets, but you’ll only find out this information by first recording the specimen in your encyclopedia.
