Becoming a Master, part 1

You ask: ‘When will I know that my training is over?’ And honestly, the answer is: when you’re dead. A true fencer is always learning, because there is always something new to discover. However, there is a point when one can claim the title of a master. And that is when they become one with the sword. There’s no better way to describe it – when you feel that your weapon’s become your arm’s extension; that its movement is unrestricted and you know exactly how to use it to achieve your goals. That’s when you know that you’ve become a better fencer than most.
