A Great Contradiction, part 1

My investigations into the nature of magical practices has finally brought me to one conclusion: it is the most human of all arts. Just like us, magic is full of contradictions. It can both create wondrous things and wreak havoc. It is neither good nor evil. It requires our blood, but in turn gives us a feeling of being utterly alive and one with the world. To each statement about the arcane I can offer a rebuttal – and both will be true.
