“It worked! By God, it really worked!

It all happened by chance, but I see divine providence at work. I performed the rites described by Ibn Hayyān – to no visible effect. But the very same day I was accosted by some ruffians, who clearly saw me as a ripe target for theft. One of them brandished a knife and slashed at me. In return, I hexed him, causing his forearm to blister.

As my assailants ran away, screaming in pain and fear, I looked at the knife wound. It was healing before my very own eyes, and after a short while – it disappeared!”
