Letter to Iulian

Iulian,

The accommodation here is good, the maid is… well, she has nothing on Mauri, but she will do, I suppose. We will not be here forever, after all. But Livy seems to be enjoying the city quite a bit.

I myself am not enjoying it. I have not been to Svartrau since the plague swept through Sangora, and I can see why. I think something in me did not want to see my childhood streets changed like this. So many houses stand empty, so many familiar faces are missing.
Ah, this was not how this letter was supposed to go. I am sorry. I wanted to thank you for arranging it all for us to weather whatever storm you are in the midst of, and I ended up, well, being myself.
