Now, let’s say you know how to deflect the attacks against you instead of just blocking them. The next step is working on your precision. The trick is to parry in such a way that your enemies are thrown out of balance. To do so, it’s best to aim at the upper part of the blade – the closer to the tip, the better.

If you do it correctly, you will create a kind of a pendulum. Not only will your opponent’s swing miss you, but will continue on moving away. And that means that an opening will be created. For a blink of an eye, your enemy will be vulnerable to any riposte you can come up with. So you better come up with a good one, eh?
