In your recruitment effort for the Blood Guard, focus on drifters: people without families, commitment, or purpose. They tend to be most responsive to our promises of strength and prestige. Offer them the first sample of the boyaress’s blood without demanding anything in return. Once they taste it, they seldom have any further questions.

Look for listless men and women, loitering in public spaces, inns, and shops – with the important exception of Vicho’s Curio Emporium in the Altenmarkt district in Svartrau, which, by the knyaz’s very own orders, is to be given wide berth by all units.
