Order Bunker - Blacklime Bunker

There are a variety of activities to do in Borderlands 4, some of which are basically mini dungeons. These come in a variety of different forms, the first of which that will become available are Order Bunkers. You might come across a few of these prior to their availability, only to see that you can’t break through the front door. That’s because you need to have finished the main mission, One Fell Swoop, first. This will allow you to use Locust containers to throw at the doors to open them. This page will look at the Blacklime Buster bunker, as well as the boss found within, Core Observer.

(1 of 3) Blacklime Bunker is found in The Howl, at the spot shown here on the map.

Blacklime Bunker Location - How to Enter

The Blacklime Buster bunker is located in The Howl section of The Fadefields region, and it’s relatively close to where you initially first met Zadra during the main story. You likely have uncovered the icon on the map already, in which case, you can put a pin in it and follow the path given to you. However, that will only help you get so far, though, as the actual door is inside the cliff’s wall, plus you’ll need to find the Locust container to use on it to open the door.

It’s probably easiest to come from the Shut-Eye Keep Safehouse, which will be a little northeast of the entrance. Once you arrive at the location and can see where the entrance is embedded in the cliff, follow the cliffside to the southwest some more, until you find the grapple spot. From here, you can easily glide around the corner to another small cliff, then to the little plateau right in front of the door. This is where the Locust container is also found, so grab it and quickly glide to the door and toss the container to open it.

(1 of 3) Crouch/Slide underneath this to continue through the mini dungeon.

As far as the actual bunker goes, it’s pretty straightforward, without much of anything to hinder you. There is a point where you have to slide/crouch underneath a pipe to get to the next room, but it’s not that hidden. Upon reaching the room with the water, stand at the entrance to it and double jump/glide to the central platform, then do the same thing to get to the spot with the button to press. This will open the door to reach the last section, with the vending machines and the drop down to the boss room.

Blacklime Buster - Core Observer Boss

For the most part, this boss is pretty simple and shouldn’t be all too difficult. When it’s doing its normal projectile spam, move to the left and right constantly, or hide behind one of the designated covers in the room. It can also shoot a cluster of mines at you, which separates, so be especially careful of those, since they can hurt a lot. In the second phase, you will see a beam attack that you should just hide behind something until it’s done. The last bar of health will have the boss do a big attack, where all of its shots ricochet around the room; hide behind something and hope nothing hits you.

Hitting the small red eye in the middle will grant you critical hits, and depending on the weapon you’re using (Jakobs), this can help you tremendously with all of the smaller adds. This boss will have two blue health bars, as well as a green one, so having Shock damage will be a huge help.

(1 of 4) Strafe back and forth to avoid the laser fire from the boss.

Core Observer Legendary Loot

There are three legendaries that the Core Observer can drop, which are as follows:

  • Defibrillator (Repkit)
  • Divided Focus (Assault Rifle)
  • Bully (Pistol)

In addition to hopefully getting one of the above, you will also receive 40 SDU Tokens. Additionally, you can pay to refight the boss here, if you want, like with most bosses in the game.
