There are a lot of collectibles in Borderlands 4, some of which are familiar to those who have played previous games. ECHO Logs are basically recordings that some people have done, which add some lore to the overall game’s world. There are a lot of ECHO Logs to find, with five of them hidden in just the very first area, Coastal Bonescape. Note that you can get four of the five right away, but the fifth requires a chain of side quests to be done before you can get it.
ECHO Log - About the Doubt¶
To make getting this ECHO a lot easier, go ahead and do The Stockroom Order Silo, which will allow you to latch onto the silo and get launched into the air. Using this momentum, you can fly to the east, where you want to look for a cliffside that has a small shack on it. It will be pretty much due north of the Shammy’s Shack location, so look for the ledge there. If you have trouble finding it, you can simply fast travel back to the silo to try again. Once you reach the correct spot, the ECHO will be on a crate.

ECHO Log - A Novel Find¶
Find Riptide Grotto on the map, where you went during one of the first story missions, then head north from its marker on the map. If you already found the Lost Capsule in Coastal Bonescape, then this ECHO will pretty much just east of it on the map. You’re looking for a giant skull on the ground, near a Kratch nest. It’s pretty hard to miss the giant skull, so it’s easy to spot. Look at the base of the skull, near its mouth, to find the ECHO on the ground.

ECHO Log - A Prisoner’s Promise¶
This ECHO Log is found along the shoreline, to the west of the Headquarters of the Crimson Resistance at the beginning of the game. If you just follow the coast, you will see it get marked on your map. There is an overturn boat along the shore and if you check next to it, on the western side, you’ll see the ECHO laying on the ground.

ECHO Log - A Hair-brained Scheme¶
For this ECHO, head to the western side of Coastal Bonescape, and if you haven’t discovered Sarrett’s Jetty yet, it’s right on the coast where the river meets the sea/ocean. In fact, there’s a road that connects Sarrett’s Jetty to Harper’s Hideaway, a bigger location that is also home to a side quest. If you follow that road from the Jetty, right as it bends to the northeast, there is a cabin on the edge of the cliff above you. You likely have to come at the shack from the southern side, since you can’t really climb the cliff. Once you get to the cabin, go to the counter inside to find the ECHO.

ECHO Log - A Maker’s Mark¶
This last ECHO is the one that requires a long list of side quests, starting with Mob Mentality. Basically, there are eight side quests you need to complete, then you can get one called Ain’t No Sham In It. During this one, you’ll get the ECHO at Shammy’s Shack.
