Amon is a powerhouse melee/elemental frontline Vault Hunter known as a Forgeknight with three distinct skill trees: Calamity, Vengeance, and Cybernetics. Each tree is tied to a different Action Skill, letting you shift between offensive, defensive, or hybrid styles. Amon can be a bit tricky to get to grips with thanks to his complex Action skills, but these builds will help to make the most of his abilities. Amon’s Forgeskill trait adjusts depending on the Action skill you have equipped.

Amon Calamity skill tree

Best Amon Calamity skills

This build leans into the Molten Slam skill and maximises incendiary damage, melee strength, and aggressive mobility. With higher speed, Amon can maximise his melee strength and take down enemies rapidly. Close-range weapons will also add versatility, though. Here are the best skills for Amon’s Calamity skill tree as well as how many points you should put in each of them:

  • Scourge (Action Skill) - Amon equips a Forgeshield that absorbs all frontal damage as Vengeance. Whenever the Vengeance metre is filled, Forgeshield provides damage reduction instead. Vengeance drains rapidly if it has not been gained recently. Reactivate your action skill to launch a Forgewave, dealing cryo ordnance damage to enemies it passes through, consuming Vengeance to increase damage dealt.
  • Firewall (Foreskill) - Deploy a shield that absorbs enemy projectiles while granting friendly projectiles increased damage and velocity. Absorbed damage is converted into Vengeance stacks if Scourge is active. Enemies near the Firewall take incendiary status effect damage over time.
  • Impetus (3/3) - Kill Skill: Amon gains increased shield regeneration rate and movement speed for a duration.
  • Discombobulate (5/5) - Amon gains melee critical strike chance.
  • Tritanium Knuckles (5/5) - Increases Amon’s melee and skill damage.
  • Gut Punch (1/3) - Melee damage and ordnance damage have a chance to apply weakness to enemies for a duration. Weakened enemies deal reduced damage and take more damage. Weakness is affected by status effect duration, and is itself considered a status effect.
  • The Best Defence (2/5) - Amon gains a super shield when dealing melee damage.
  • Berserk (5/5) - Whenever Amon activates his Forgeskill, he becomes berserk for a duration, gaining slow immunity and bonus cryo damage with guns and melee.
  • There Is Only Red (3/3) - Kill Skill: Whenever Amon kills an enemy while Berserk is active, partially restore its duration and increase the bonus cryo damage effect.
  • Brimming Vigor (3/5) - Amon gains increased maximum health capacity and deals increased melee damage the more full his health is.
  • My Touch Is Death (3/3) - Whenever Amon deals melee damage, there is a chance to activate Kill Skills.
  • Into The Fray (5/5) - Amon gains increased damage dealt and damage reduction based on his distance from the enemy. The closer the enemy, the greater the bonus.
  • Harbinger (1/5) - Kill Skill: Amon gains increased melee damage and maximum shield capacity for a duration.
  • Wrath of Nature (2/5) - Part of the Vengeance skill tree. Amon gains increased status effect chance and cryo effectiveness.
  • The Thrill (3/3) - Part of the Vengeance skill tree. Amon gains missing health regeneration. Every time you take or absorb non-status effect damage, you gain a stack of Resolute, which increases this effect.
  • Cryonic Thrum (Augment) - Part of the Vengeance skill tree. While Scourge is active, Amon taunts enemies and sends out a cryonic pulse every second, dealing cryo damage to enemies and restoring allies’ health. While aiming, Amon’s movement speed is reduced, but Amon gains bonus cryo damage with guns and consumes vengeance on each gunshot.
  • b (5/5) - Part of the Vengeance skill tree. Amon gains increased action skill duration and gun swap speed.
  • Warrior’s Cup (3/5) - Part of the Vengeance skill tree. Whenever Amon uses a repkit while his action skill is active, partially restore action skill duration.

Amon’s Vengeance skill tree

Best Amon Vengeance skills

Amon’s Vengeance skill tree focuses on amplifying the amount of damage done by ordnance, which is heavy weapon adjustments, grenades, and the associated equipment. We also lean into regenerating ammo at a rapid rate so you’re not left in a pinch. You can choose whichever Action skill you prefer, although we’ve gone with Scourge for some additional protection combined with the Crucible augment which has the fastest cooldown time. Using the Berserk effect from the Calamity skill tree in this build grants immunity over time and additional cryo damage when your Forgeskill is activated.

Here are the best Amon Vengeance skills and what to spend on each of them:

  • Scourge (Action skill) - Amon equips a Forgeshield that absorbs all frontal damage as Vengeance. Whenever the Vengeance metre is filled, Forgeshield provides damage reduction instead. Vengeance drains rapidly if it has not been gained recently. Reactivate your action skill to launch a Forgewave, dealing cryo ordnance damage to enemies it passes through, consuming Vengeance to increase damage dealt.
  • Firewall (Forgeskill) - Deploy a shield that absorbs enemy projectiles while granting friendly projectiles increased damage and velocity. Absorbed damage is converted into Vengeance stacks if Scourge is active. Enemies near the Firewall take incendiary status effect damage over time.
  • Scorched Kairos (2/5) - Amon gains increased ordnance damage and magazine size.
  • Tail of the Comet (4/5) - Whenever Amon deals ordnance damage, there is a chance to apply a cryo status effect that deals cryo damage over time for a duration. Tail of the Comet is affected by status effect application chance.
  • Cryonic Thrum (Augment) - While Scourge is active, taunt enemies and send out a cryonic pulse every second, dealing cryo damage to nearby enemies and restoring allies’ health. While aiming, reduce your movement speed but gain bonus cryo damage with guns, and consume Vengeance on each shot.
  • Battleborn (1/5) - Gain increased gun damage the more full your health is. This effect is doubled while at full health.
  • Bullet Hail (5/5) - Gunshots have a chance to ricochet as an elemental shard, dealing cryo damage.
  • Icy Rage (5/5) - Kill Skill: Killing an enemy with cryo damage will grant a stack of cryo affinity for a duration, which increases gun damage.
  • Primal Surge (5/5) - Whenever Amon applies a status effect to an enemy, there is a chance to partially restore his shield and ammo.
  • Impetus (3/3) - Part of the Calamity skill tree. Kill Skill: Amon gains increased shield regeneration and movement speed for a duration.
  • Heavy Plate (2/5) - Part of the Calamity skill tree. Gain increased maximum shield capacity and overshield capacity.
  • Wield the Storm (4/5) - Part of the Calamity skill tree. Increases your status effect damage and duration.
  • Gut Punch (1/3) - Part of the Calamity skill tree. Melee damage and ordnance damage have a chance to apply weakness to enemies for a duration. Weakened enemies deal reduced damage and take more damage. Weakness is affected by status effect duration, and is itself considered a status effect.
  • Bullet Storm (5/5) - Part of the Calamity skill tree. Whenever Amon applies a status effect, he gains increased gun damage for a duration.
  • Berserk (5/5) - Part of the Calamity skill tree. Whenever Amon activates his Forgeskill, he becomes Berserk for a duration, gaining slow immunity and bonus cryo damage with guns and melee.
  • There Is Only Red (3/3) - Part of the Calamity skill tree. Kill Skill: Whenever Amon kills an enemy while Berserk is active, partially restore its duration and increase the bonus cryo damage effect.

Amon’s Cybernetics skill tree

Best Amon Cybernetics skills

The best Cybernetics skills can be combined to provide a build capable of activating Amon’s Action skill rapidly. The Action skill, Crucible, sees Amon launching axes that cause enemies to explode and disintegrate. Forgedrones will also arrive on the battlefield for more damage output. Finally, Amon’s critical hit chance is increased alongside his outgoing gun damage.

Here are the best Amon Cybernetics skills and how many points to spend on each of them:

  • Crucible (Action skill) - Amon readies Forgeaxes that can be thrown and picked up off the ground to refund cooldown: Flame axe deals incendiary melee damage, while frost axe, deals cryo melee damage. Enemies damaged by Forgeaxes are primed for a short duration, and will detonate when they die or are damaged by a Forgeskill, dealing damage to nearby enemies.
  • Double-Edge (Forgeskill) - Throw a twinned forgeaxe, dealing cryo melee damage to enemies it passes through and returning to Amon, dealing incendiary melee damage on the way back.
  • Cast Iron (3/5) - Amon gains increased Forgeskill cooldown rate and gun handling.
  • Gathering Storm (3/5) - Kill Skill: Amon deals increased elemental damage for a duration.
  • Executioner (5/5) - Amon gains increased critical hit damage. This effect is doubled for a duration after dealing melee damage.
  • Destruction Engine (5/5) - Amon gains increased Forgeskill damage and detonation damage.
  • Tempered Pyre (1/5) - Forgedrone Skill: Whenever Amon activates his Forgeskill, he spawns an Axe Forgedrone that attacks nearby enemies for a duration, dealing incendiary melee damage. Activating a Forgeskill while Tempered Pyre is active fully restores the duration of all active Forgedrones.
  • Twin Vipers (1/1) - Tempered Pyre now spawns an additional Axe Forgedrone that deals cryo melee damage. Forgedrones from Tempered Pyre have reduced duration.
  • Vital Organs (5/5) - Kill Skill: Amon gains critical hit chance with guns for a duration.
  • Bellows (5/5) - Whenever Amon activates his Forgeskill, he gains increased gun damage for a duration.
  • Blast Furnace (5/5) - Whenever Amon or his Forgedrones critically hit an enemy or cause a detonation, he gains increased damage dealt for a duration. Detonations grant multiple stacks.
  • Blade Tempest (Augment) - Amon now readies Forgeswords with his action skill, choosing flame or shock, dealing incendiary melee damage or shock melee damage respectively. Whenever activated, consume all charges to launch a barrage. Enemies damaged by Forgeswords are primed for detonation for a duration, and will detonate when they die or are damaged by a Forgeskill, dealing damage to the target, but none to nearby enemies.
  • Tempered Lightning (1/5) - Forgedrone Skill: Whenever Amon activates his action skill, he spawns a Sword Forgedrone that attacks nearby enemies for a duration, dealing shock melee damage. Activating an action skill while Tempered Lightning is active will partially restore the duration of all active Forgedrones.
  • Lightning Rod (4/5) - Amon’s guns have a chance to spawn an elemental bolt on critical hits, dealing shock damage.
  • Escalation (1/5) - Forgedrones gain increased attack speed and movement speed.
  • Honed Point (2/3) - Forgedrones have a chance to critically hit. Whenever a Forgedrone critically hits, they partially restore Amon’s action skill cooldown.
