All Borderlands 4 Shift Codes
There are multiple co-op options available if you want to jump into Borderlands 4 with friends. We’ve got all you need to know on how it works, how to set it up, progression, loot sharing, and more.
Borderlands 4 supports up to four people playing at the same time, and you don’t need to complete any tutorials before partying up and beginning the game. If your friends are on different platforms though, there are a few steps you’ll need to complete before you’re ready for Borderlands 4 crossplay multiplayer.
How to use Borderlands 4 crossplay¶
Crossplay settings
To begin with, you’ll want to open your session settings and ensure that crossplay is enabled in the personal crossplay section. This ensures players from other platforms can join your sessions. The party crossplay section will tell you whether everyone in your party has crossplay turned on or not.
Before your friends on other platforms are visible in-game, you’ll need to sign up for a Shift account and link it to your game. You can do this via the Shift website, and you can log-in via the platform you’re playing the game on as an additional easy option. On the Shift website, navigate to the platforms tab to check if the storefront you bought the game on is linked.
When your account is linked, share your Shift ID with your friends, and you’ll be able to party up in Borderlands 4.
Is cross-progression enabled in Borderlands 4?¶
Cross-save and cross-progression are not enabled at launch in Borderlands 4. This means that your saves cannot be transferred across platforms, and your progression is not transferable either. So if you want to get through the game in a good amount of time, make sure you start your playthrough on the platform you intend to spend the most amount of time on.
How to use Borderlands 4 split-screen co-op¶
Split-screen co-op is only available on Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5 consoles. It’s available as a local option, meaning someone has to be in the same room as you, but the two of you can still join up with two other friends online for the four-player multiplayer experience. You can even join a party of two other friends playing split-screen. Just connect two controllers and launch the game, and select the split screen option from the main menu.
