Prologue

Welcome to our walkthrough for Arkane Studios and Bethesda’s new first person action game Dishonored. This guide will help you make your way through this title from start to finish, picking up all of the hidden Runes, Bone Charms, Sokolov Portraits and Blueprints along the way. Whilst we’re writing this guide from a stealth, no killing point of view and have played through successfully using it, it should be noted that Dishonored is very good at providing several options for just about every task.

We have also highlighted optional tasks you can do during missions to somewhat enrich your experience. You will find these boxed in each mission. These are entirely optional, and you can completely ignore them and follow the guide around the boxes for a faster, less risky route through the game, but note that they can often grant access to collectibles and often provide additional information and rewards upon completion to help with the main task.

Warning: In order to go through with no kills, some side missions will be required, as these side missions will enable you to capture some primary targets without killing them.

Prologue

After soaking in the scenes as you approach the city of Dunwall, you’ll finally gain control of Corvo as he gets off the boat. As you cross the bridge you’ll see a scene with Emily, the Empress’ daughter, who’ll give you an optional task to play hide and seek. This acts as a tutorial of sorts in how to use the game’s cover system. If you want to do so, follow her down under the bridge and follow the prompts.

Emily will run up to you and ask you to play some hide n' seek. Although you don't need to do it, it gives you a chance to get used to the controls and sneaking/hiding.

When you are ready return up the stairs and continue upwards until you reach the gazebo, where you will encounter the Empress. After a short scene, defend yourself against some guys who seem to teleport and then, after a few moments, a scene will play to end the prologue.
