Trophies/Achievements Guide, Part 1

By
Jarrod Garripoli

Scorched Savior

This is the platinum trophy for the PS3 and PS4 versions of the game, which requires you to get every other trophy. As with Saints Row IV, it isn’t a long or difficult trophy, although it will take at least 20 hours due to that particularly trophy. There’s a few tricky trophies, but nothing that stands out as being overly difficult or grindy.

Fallen Angel

This trophy/achievement is gotten automatically whenever you get one of the four superpowers at the beginning of the game.

H-E… & …Double-Hockey-sticks

As with previous entries in the Saints Row franchise, Hell is broken up into five main areas, which are further broken up into smaller areas. In order to get 100% in the smaller areas, you’ll have to do all of the activities and targets there. The following is what’s needed to get 100%:

  • Altars
  • Extraction Facilities
  • Hellblazing
  • Marshalling Grounds
  • Mayhem
  • Pledge Rush
  • Salvation
  • Spires
  • Survival
  • Torment Fraud

Fly, You Fools

Flying is likely your primary form of getting from one place to another in Gat Out of Hell and it’s possible that you might get 250,000 meters by the time you finish with everything else. If not, all you can do is simply fly around until you do get it. Note that the upgrades for Flight should be gotten before anything else, especially the ones related to Stamina. You can check how much you’ve flown via the third page on the stats screen.

Trophy/Achievement Icon

Fly, You Fools

Fly for 250,000 meters

Trophy icon

The Wings of Angels

Considering you need to fly 250,000 meters for a trophy, this should come naturally as you play the game.

Trophy/Achievement Icon

The Wings of Angels

Be airborne during Supernatural Jumps or Flight for a combined 10 minutes of gameplay

Get Stoned

Stone is the default element for your Blast power when you first get it, so you don’t have to go out of your way to do one of the Altars diversions. After using this on an enemy (the Husks don’t count), you have to shatter by doing anything else to them (such as a regular melee attack, for example). You know you did it right when you see Shatter Kill pop up on your screen.

Trophy/Achievement Icon

Get Stoned

Stonify and Shatter Kill 100 Demons with the Stone Blast Supernatural Power

Trophy icon

Footprints in the Sand

Unlike the Get Stoned achievement/trophy, you can use all three elements of the Stomp superpower for this, which is definitely the most powerful power in the game, especially when all three elements are fully upgraded. Remember that only demons count and not Husks for this.

Of the three elements, Vacuum is the most useful, especially with the upgrade that allows you to suck up health and Wages. Considering you’ll need to do farming for Wages later to upgrade weapons, it’s a good idea to get Vacuum and upgrade that one first before any of the others.

Trophy/Achievement Icon

Footprints in the Sand

Kill 150 Demons with the Stomp Supernatural Power

Trophy icon
10

Purple Demons

As with Footprints in the Sand, you can use all three elements for this and they have to be demons and not Husks. The actual kill has to come from the Summon and not from anything else, so upgrade your powers and keep killing demons. The Titan element is the most powerful out of the bunch, able to take out multiple enemies with some of its attacks.

Trophy/Achievement Icon

Purple Demons

Have minions kill 100 Demons with the Summon Supernatural Power

Trophy icon

Oxymoronic

Coldfire is the default element for the Aura ability and coats you in a blue flame, allowing you to burn enemies whenever you pass close to them. You can only use the Coldfire element and you need to kill 100 demons (no Husks allowed) for this trophy/achievement. Be careful about shattering enemies via other means when you have purchased the Fire & Ice upgrade.

Trophy/Achievement Icon

Oxymoronic

Kill 100 Demons using the Coldfire Aura Supernatural Power

Trophy icon

The Seven Deadly Weapons

In order to get this, you first need to unlock the Seven Deadly Weapons, which you can do by looking at the page under the Collectibles section. Once you’ve unlocked all of the weapons, just get 25 kills with each of them, which shouldn’t be too difficult, as they are powerful weapons. Just note that it must be done on demons, as Husks do not count.

Trophy/Achievement Icon

The Seven Deadly Weapons

Kill 25 Demons with each of the Seven Deadly Weapons

The Devil’s Dues

If you’re going after all of the trophies/achievements in the game, then you’ll be upgrading all of the weapons to the max, getting this in the process. Every weapon in the game can be upgraded at the vending machines, with some having an ultimate upgrade (20,000 Wages) and all having at least one set of five upgrades (total of 32,600 Wages). With that noted, the Gods Hammer is likely one of the cheapest to fully upgrade, costing 54,600 Wages.

Trophy/Achievement Icon

The Devil's Dues

Upgrade one weapon to the max

Fell From Heaven

You need to purchase every single upgrade for all of your powers, but you need to complete all of the Altars diversions first, since getting the extra elements will open more upgrades in the Arcane menu. Of course, to purchase those upgrades, you will need Soul Clusters and you’re going to have to collect every single one.

In addition to that, in the regular upgrades menu, there’s one listed under Bonus called Wages for Clusters. You need to purchase all three upgrades there (max of level 12 and a total of 69,000 Wages) to get more Clusters to purchase all of the power upgrades.

Trophy/Achievement Icon

Fell From Heaven

Purchase 113 Supernatural Power Upgrades

Trophy icon

Plague of Gat

For this trophy/achievement, make sure that you are killing demons, as Husks will not count towards the total. It will take a good while and this might be the last one you get (besides the 20 hours one). If you plan on doing all of the in-game challenges, then you will get (or close to it) the 1000 needed kills. Should you happen not to get them, spam the Stomp power (the Vacuum element seems a bit stronger than the others) until you do.

Trophy/Achievement Icon

Plague of Gat

Kill 1000 Demons with any combination of Supernatural Powers

Trophy icon

The King of Hell

There’s a total of 102 challenges in Gat Out of Hell, with more being unlocked as you complete various things and get weapons/powers. Most of the challenges are self-explanatory, but here’s a few tips for those that aren’t:

  • The Predeceptor is the monster truck that demons ride in when you have Notoriety
  • The Rambulance is easy to spot, but you can run over both demons and Husks for this
  • The Comet is the vehicle you see driving around that spontaneously catches on fire and blows up. Find one, steal it and initiate the Balls of Fire mode, then drive around until you either get the challenge or blow up. If you blow up, do it again.
  • Some weapons require its ultimate upgrade to be purchased, which should cost 20,000 Wages for those that need it.
  • Shadow Demons are the ones that teleport and stay away from you, trying to snipe (crosshair on map)
  • Dark Inciters are the floating ones with a shield
  • Legionnaires are the big ones that look like the Arch Dukes. Every 7th Dex kill usually has two Legionnaires with him; otherwise, they randomly show up when Notoriety is at 4 or 5 bars.
  • Tragedy Demons are regular demons, but with white masks. They show up in The Den area in the northeast.
  • Grenadiers are the demons that look like they’re wearing armor. They have a fire aura around them, so you can’t get close and usually employ the Lil Croaker or the Exodus 10.

Complete ALL of the Challenges

The Book of More, Man

The Audio Tomes in this game function similar to the Logs in Saints Row IV, and they appear as floating books in the game. There’s a total of 64, with 5 each belonging to the major NPCs and 39 extra ones for the Damned Souls Orientation Guide. At level 15, you get access to an upgrade called the Collectible Finder, which can be bought for 10,000 Wages. This places all of the normal collectibles on the map, with both the Tomes and Commentaries sharing the same icon.

The Book of More, Man

Find 64 Tomes

Seraphim and Cherubim

You begin the game playing as Johnny Gat and you are able to switch to Kinzie in the Ultor lobby. The best way to do this is to continue as Gat until you see the Seraphim and Cherubim counter pop up on the screen, then switch to Kinzie for the rest. As long as you remember to switch, playing two hours as each of the characters should come naturally.

Trophy/Achievement Icon

Seraphim and Cherubim

Play for at least 2 hours as Gat and 2 hours as Kinzie

Trophy icon

Level One Demon

When you access the in-game menu, you see an option called Upgrades, which will enhance your character with things like increased health and other things in exchange for Wages. All you have to do is purchase a single upgrade to get this trophy/achievement.

Trophy/Achievement Icon

Level One Demon

Buy your first Upgrade from the Upgrade Store

Hazardous Dukes

Arch Dukes are the strongest enemies in the game and are large demons with a flaming sword and shield. There are two ways of encountering one, with the first being to take over a Marshalling Ground. After converting the stones, an Arch Duke will appear on the bottom and you’ll need to kill it before you can capture the Marshalling Ground.

The only problem with that is that there’s only 5 Marshalling Grounds in the game, so you’re going to need to do some grinding to get the other twenty. The other way to make Arch Dukes appear is by maxing out your Notoriety, which should be pretty easy to do if you keep spamming Stomp.

Trophy/Achievement Icon

Hazardous Dukes

Killed 25 Arch Dukes

Soul in One & Soul Drain

Just as with Saints Row IV, there is a set of collectibles known as Soul Clusters, which can be used to purchase upgrades for your powers. There are two kinds in the game, with blue ones being worth one for each collected and just floating there. The other ones are pinkish in color and have an arrow pointing in a direction. When you go to collect the pinkish ones, they will split into four separate ones that must be collected within a time limit before they disappear (worth four Clusters).

It’s best to wait until you have reached level 15 before going after all of the Clusters, as that is when you can purchase the Collectible Finder upgrade for 10,000 Wages. Doing so will make all Clusters appear on your map, making it much easier to find them.

My Dear Watson

In order to get this, you will need to do some of the Altar diversions so you can get at least one different element for each of your four active powers. Once you have a new element for each one, switch between them with the D-pad or via the Arcane menu until this pops.

Trophy/Achievement Icon

My Dear Watson

Chose a new element for all of your Supernatural Powers

Epic Flight Quest

Snowball’s Chance is located in The Den area in the northeast and looks like an upside down ice cream cone, while Sinterpol HQ is located in the middle of the Rebellion Square area towards the southwest. In order to fly from the rooftop of one building to the other, you’re going to want to upgrade your Flight power. You want the upgrades to use less Stamina (all three), as well as at least three of the flaps (get all if you choose) and possibly the Nimble and Power ones.

With all of that out of the way, it’s best to start from Sinterpol HQ, since it’s definitely more difficult to spot than Snowball’s Chance (this trophy/achievement works both ways). Go to Snowball’s Chance first, though, to find the building and mark it with a waypoint on your map, then go back to Sinterpol and charge your jump to the fullest. Use your first flap right away, then use the rest sparingly until feel like you need them. Make sure you don’t touch any buildings or the ground while doing this.

Trophy/Achievement Icon

Epic Flight Quest

Fly from the roof of Snowball's Chance to Sinterpol HQ's roof, without landing
