Kinzie doesn’t like Matt Miller, but you decide that he is the first person you’re going to rescue. Once you’ve accepted the mission, go to The Broken Shillelagh and enter Matt’s simulation. You start out in a top-down world with no weapons or powers, but Kinzie will place you inside of a tank. Shoot the enemy tanks and soldiers that appear until Kinzie manages to put you back in 3D.
Destroy any remaining enemies and then shoot the gate Kinzie points out until it is gone, allowing you to continue. Keep doing this until you eventually come to a third gate, which Zinyak will make invincible. A bunch of enemies will continually spawn, so survive until Kinzie makes your tank disappear. She’ll tell you to jump on the bike to get to where Matt is located.
You only have a few minutes to get to Matt’s “prison,” but you have more than enough time to get there, as long as you ignore all of the enemies. The path to get there is linear as well, so you won’t be getting lost at all, since there’s also arrows guiding you. Once you get there, Zinyak will give you a choice between a blue door and a red door.
Choosing the blue door will continue your “foolish adventure,” while the red one will make Zinyak set everything else free at the cost of your execution. Of course, choosing the red one will make you fail the mission, but you can restart from the checkpoint, placing you at the doors again. Picking the blue door will continue the mission.
You’ll now be in a text adventure game, which you’ll need to go through in order to finally free Matt. While there are wrong answers here, it will not start you back at the beginning of the game, but rather let you go back one question to pick another option. At the end, choose to punch Killbane over and over to finish the text adventure and the mission.
