Store Hacking is one of the diversions in the game and is more like a mini-game than anything else, first shown to you during the Hack the Planet story mission. Each hack is set up as a grid and your goal is to place the nodes available to you to complete the circuit. Should you fail to complete the hack in time, then you will get some notoriety and the Zin will come after you.
There’s a total of 34 stores in the game, which means there’s 34 layouts available. They are numbered from 0 to 33, with the number appearing in the top left corner of the screen when attempting the hack. The layout is determined by the number of the hack you’re doing and are not tied to a specific store. That means that the third hack will always be the same, no matter which store you attempt it on.
