After a significant story event in the Northern Tower in the Age of Reconstruction, you’ll find yourself burdened by the company of a fairy named Faie. She’s no less of a chatterbox than the princess was, and she can’t heal you, but Faie can attack enemies on your behalf and, more usefully, she can cast a variety of spells. These have to be learned from various “Shrines of the Mystic” found in various ages, and this page will provide the locations of every spell-bestowing shrine in The Adventures of Elliot: The Millennium Tales, earning you the Wisdom Revealed trophy/achievement in the process!

Shrines of the Mystic¶
Shrines of the Mystic are marked on your map by butterfly icons, and will often be found very near main quest objectives or dungeons. Some of these are more optional than others - you have to get Ignite to return to Littlehope Village, while Sprint can be neglected for quite a while. Still, the trials required to learn each spell are simple enough and there’s really no good reason to ignore these shrines when you find them, as their powers tend to help in combat and/or exploration.

Ignite¶
Complete the Shrine of the Mystic - Ignite, which can be found near the Open Plateau adventurer’s guidestone in the Age of Reconstruction. You’ll pass by here during the main quest objective “Head to the southern caves”, and since you can’t pass through the southern caves without this spell, you’ll need it to progress the main questline, making it unmissable.

Sprint¶
Find the Shrine of the Mystic - Sprint in the Age of Safekeeping, northeast of Rainbow Lotus dungeon. This area and the shrine itself can only be reached after you acquired the Heavy Hammer during your first trip to the Age of Reconstruction.

Warp¶
During the main quest objective “Search for the doorway ruins near the great tree” you’ll finally be able to reach Neverwither, where you’ll find the Shrine of the Mystic - Warp northeast of the Neverwither adventurer’s guidepost in the Age of Reconstruction. Complete it to teach Faie the Warp spell.

Vacuum¶
After you get the Western Caves Key from Carter in the Age of Magic, go through the Western Caves to reach the Garretbelt region - volcanos, lava, all that fun stuff. Southwest of the Garretbelt adventurer’s guidepost you’ll find the Shrine of the Mystic - Vacuum, inside of which you’ll learn the Vacuum spell.

Copy¶
You can find the Shrine of the Mystic - Copy along the northeastern edge of the Whiterea region in the Age of Budding. Enter and complete the trials to learn Faie’s fifth and final spell: Copy. This creates a clone of Elliot that mimics Elliot’s actions, effectively doubling your damage output if used optimally. It also allows you to solve certain puzzles that require you to depress multiple floor plates at once, making it an essential spell in and out of combat!
