How to Dive - Diving Manual Location
Side quests are a fundamental element of role-playing games, and in The Adventures of Elliot: The Millennium Tales they’re worth completing for the weapons, accessories, money and other goodies they reward you with. To ensure you don’t miss any of these quests, their rewards, and most importantly, the A Reliable Adventurer trophy/achievement, this page will tell you how to start each side quest in The Adventures of Elliot: The Millennium Tales!
Page Breakdown¶
(1 of 3) When a quest is about to become permanently unavailable, you’ll see sweat drops near the quest-giver’s icon,
Missable Quests¶
Gamers have been coddled by recent games, and while The Adventures of Elliot: The Millennium Tales isn’t a difficult game, it doesn’t force-feed all its content to the player inasmuch as some quests can become permanently incompletable if you advance the main questline too far. For example, Wind-Tossed Adoration will expire relatively shortly after you can start it if you ignore it.
To see what quests are available, check the “Quests” tab of your menu and you’ll see a grid with character icons on it. Black icons means there’s an unstarted quest somewhere - just select the icon and the game will tell you roughly where and when the quest-giver can be found. If there are sweat drops coming out of the icon, it means the quest is about to expire. If you see a scarecrow instead of a character icon, the quest has expired and cannot be completed in this playthrough. Depending on which quest(s) you miss, this can lock you out of the A Reliable Adventurer trophy/achievement, as well as Accessory Collector, since [Accessories] are a not-uncommon reward for completing side quests.
If that’s not enough bother, quests can also conflict with other quests, especially if an NPC participates in multiple quests. For example, Heurich is an NPC that’s involved in numerous quests, and if you reach the Age of Budding the quest “The Sending Flame Rite” will become available… but only if “The Long Way Around”, “Calotesia’s History Lesson” and “In Search of the Right Sound” aren’t currently active. Main story progress can also make quests temporarily incapable of being progressed. When you can’t advance a quest at the current moment, the character icon in the quest menu will have a red circle with a slash through it next to them - try to complete other active side quests or advance the main questline to resolve this.
Simply put, it’s best to chest your quest log often and complete any and all new quests as soon as they become available! Or just use this guide to ensure you don’t miss anything.
Age of Safekeeping Quests¶
Catch up with Euygene in Castle Huther to start “A Spear with a Past”, which will earn you the Sapling Spear when all is said and done.
A Spear with a Past¶
Clear the Mist Ruins as part of the main questline and this quest will unlock. Talk to Euygene in Castle Huther to start it. Unlike most “side quests”, this quest must be completed to advance the main questline. You will get the Sapling Spear as a reward.
You’ll unlock the Shortbow by completing “A Good Old Bow”, which can be started by talking to Leyka outside the orphanage in Huther.
A Good Old Bow¶
After clearing the Mist Ruins this will be one of the two mandatory “side quests” you have to complete to advance the main questline. To start it, talk to Leyka outside of the orphanage along the southeastern edge of Huther to start the quest. You will get the Short Bow as a reward.
Before you head to the Age of Reconstruction, talk to the Devoted Attendant outside of Castle Huther to start “Wind-Tossed Adoration”. This quest is highly missable!
Wind-Tossed Adoration¶
After clearing the Mist Ruins in the Age of Safekeeping as part of the main questline, advance the main quest until your objective is “Head to the doorway ruins”. At this point two quests will unlock, including this one - talk to the Devoted Attendant outside of Castle Huther to start this quest.
Talk to a crying girl north of the orphanage in Huther to start “ Chain of Kindness“.

A boy named Ichil can be found outside the orphanage along the southeastern corner of Huther after you witness a scene between Hildebrandt and Marnie during the Age of Magic. Talk to him to start the quest “Beyond His Gaze”.
Beyond His Gaze¶
Before this quest becomes available, you’ll need to advance the main questline past the second encounter with Kaifried in the Northern Tower. Once that’s done, head to Weyzn in the Age of Magic and approach the Formanit Institute to trigger a scene with Marnie and Hildebrandt. This will cause a wave of new quests to start - return to the orphanage in Huther in the Age of Safekeeping to find a kid named Ichil outside. Talk to him to start this quest, which will reward you with the Vengeful Bangle once completed.
Visit the tavern along the southern edge of Huther and talk to the Nkatani to start the quest “In Search of the Right Sound”.

A Tale for Another Time, Another Place¶
Once again, you’ll need to encounter Kaifried in the Northern Tower (Age of Reconstruction) for the second time, then trigger a scene with Marnie and Hildebrandt in Weyzen (Age of Magic) for this quest to become available. When that’s done, your boy Euygene will have another quest for you - find him lurking in his chambers in Castle Huther to start it. You’ll get the Sparkly Ring for completing Euygene’s second quest.
After talking to Hirt in the Age of Budding you can return to Huther and talk to the “Adventurer Brimming with Curiosity” standing outside of Kaifried’s manor to start the quest “Artisanal Spirit across the Ages”.
Artisanal Spirit across the Ages¶
After you reach the Age of Budding, you will need to talk to Hirk in Hitoyori - you’ll find her hut along the southwestern edge of town. Once you’ve talked to her, this quest will become available in the Age of Safekeeping. Return to Huther and search for an “Adventurer Brimming with Curiosity” standing outside of Kaifried’s manor along the northeastern edge of the city. You will obtain the White Ring for completing this quest.
Talk to King Hichard in the throne room of Castle Huther to start the quest “The King’s Feast”. It will become available after you clear the Dragonpillar dungeon in the Age of Budding, then talk to Euygene.

Sturm and Drank¶
To unlock this quest you must complete the main questline event in the Dragonpillar dungeon, then return to Castle Huther and meet with Euygene. Also, this quest cannot be started if you haven’t completed the quest ”My Family’s Motto”. Once those conditions are met, head to the tavern along the southern end of Huther in the Age of Safekeeping and talk to Baccante inside said tavern to start this quest.
Complete the Dragonpillar dungeon in the Age of Budding, talk to Euygene in Castle Huther, then find Leyka near the orphanage in the southeastern edge of Huther to start the quest “Irreplaceable Treasures”.
Irreplaceable Treasures¶
Like the previous quest, ”Sturm and Drank” you will need to complete the Dragonpillar dungeon in the Age of Budding then talk to Euygene in Castle Huther to get this quest to pop up. In addition, you must have completed the quest ”Beyond His Gaze” - the quest won’t show up until both these conditions are met. Even when that’s done, you cannot progress this quest until you also complete the quest ”A Chain of Kindness”.
Once those conditions are met, talk to Leyka outside the orphanage along the southeastern edge of Huther to start the quest.
Talk to Carter along the southwestern edge of Huther (Age of Safekeeping) to to start the quest “Joy Blossoms like a Flower”. You must be on the True Ending path and have obtained the Amber Pendant from princess Heuria’s room in Castle Huther before this quest becomes available.

This quest should now be available back in Littlehope Village in the Age of Reconstruction. One Lady’s Request¶
This quest is somewhat tangled up with ”Hildebrandt’s Research” in that they both start at the same time, but if you begin the former quest you’ll need to complete it before you’re able to start this quest, likely because Hildebrandt plays a role in both.
In any event, after you’ve witnessed the cutscene between Marnie and Hildebrandt in the Age of Magic, you’ll need to head to the Northern Westerea adventurer’s guidepost and head east from there to some high ground, where you’ll trigger a scene.
