Cats aren’t just collectible critters you can find in exchange for rewards in The Adventures of Elliot: The Millennium Tales, finding them is necessary to [unlock the game’s true ending]. Just as importantly, finding every cat in the game will net you the trophy/achievement Katzenmeister. With all that in mind, this page will provide the location of every cat in The Adventures of Elliot: The Millennium Tales!
Page Breakdown¶
The quest “Capricious Neighbors” will start when you leave Castle Huther after returning with the Moonmirror. You can start collecting cats after this quest!
How to Start Collecting Cats¶
You will invariably start finding cats long before you can actually collect them - heck, there’s one just outside of Huther’s western gate! To actually start your kitty collection, however, you’ll need to advance the story until you obtain the Moonmirror shield from the Rainbow Lotus dungeon. Talk to Euygene at Castle Huther following this and when you leave Castle Huther you’ll run into the Ailurophilic Traveler, automatically starting the quest ”Capricious Neighbors”.
During this quest you’ll be tasked with finding two cats, both of which can be found just to the east of the Ailurophilic Traveler. Catch these two cats and bring them back to the Ailurophilic Traveler and the quest will complete, after which you can talk to any cat you find on your travels to add them to your collection.
Once you find five cats, return to the Ailurophilic Traveler to get the Cat Needle, which will make find the remaining cats much easier.

You should endeavor to find five cats as soon as possible, as doing so will get you the Cat Needle, which will reveal the location of (almost) every cat in the world, making this a much, much easier task to complete. The locations of a few cats are tied up in the game’s [true ending route] and may take some extra effort to find. You’ll also need to explore just about every dungeon and secret passage in every age to find all the cats in the game, as they’re rather evenly distributed throughout the various ages. 47 out of 50 Cats - Cat Sages and the True Ending Route¶
If you get the Cat Needle and find every cat marked on your map you’ll end up with 47 cats in total. Last we checked, 47 was not, in fact, 50. Three of the cats you need to find are [Cat Sages], who will are not detectable by the Cat Needle and will not join you until you’re a fair ways into the [True Ending] route. After you get the Lustrous Bell, be sure to talk to the Ailurophilic Traveler in the Age of Reconstruction, the Age of Magic and the Age of Budding and he’ll tell you where to look for each Cat Sage, after which they’ll be marked on your map.
