Cherry Blossom Trees are special landmarks, where you will find an offering statue in front of it. If you place a piece of fruit (an Apple is more than enough) in the bowl, then a Satori will appear and mark the locations of all caves in the area with a blue pillar of light. This seems to last a while (maybe around one in-game day) and even highlights caves you may have already discovered.

Cracked rocks (or walls) are obstacles that you can destroy to reveal hidden passages or items.

There are multiple ways to deal with them. You can Fuse something sturdy like a rock to a weapon, then directly use the weapon on the cracked rocks/wall.

Bombs are also very effective, be they Bomb Flowers, which you can also fuse to arrows to use from a distance, or Time Bombs.

After destroying a cracked rock, occasionally a rusted weapon, rocks or gemstone (eg. Opal) may drop. You can Fuse rocks with rusted weapons to continue digging.

Besides the brown rocks, there are blue and black variants that require more damage to destroy. However, they can be destroyed in the same manner.

In addition, you may encounter luminous variants that may drop Luminous Stones.

Strange orbs found around Gerudo Town. Related to The Mysterious Eighth.

Gather them in the place where Rotana is waiting inside the Gerudo Shelter.

You need to place the orbs in the hands of the statue with the matching symbol.

There are 7 orbs, 6 found in the town and one found in Kara Kara Bazaar.

Rotana will mention seeking Riju’s sand seal, Patricia, for help–it will give the co-ordinates for the last orb at Kara Kara Bazaar.

Afterwards, an 8th giant orb will be revealed. Transport this to the north entrance of the Gerudo Sanctuary to open the gate.

Surface

Use Goddess Statues to transfer four Light of Blessings into a Heart Container or Stamina Vessel.

Rotana will ask you to look for four missing stelae. These are all found inside the Gerudo Shelter. You should use the Camera to take pictures of them.

Surface

An ancient stone tablet with Hyrulean text carved on it. Located on several star-shaped islands in the sky.

When you step near the stone tablet, the floor will give way and the stone tablet will begin descending to the surface.

After beginning Messages from an Ancient Era, you can use your Camera to photograph the tablets and show them to Wortsworth at Kakariko Village.
