One of the collectibles in Kao the Kangaroo is the letters that form the word, KAO. You will find these hidden throughout the majority of the stages, with this page focusing on the locations in The Lava Caves.

Where to Find the K Letter in The Lava Caves¶

The K Letter is just past the second Crystal you find in the level, by the raised bridge

You won’t be finding the first letter in The Lava Caves until a good bit into the level. When you reach the tutorial crab that teaches you about Fire Totems, which spit out fire orbs infinitely, you will come to a raised bridge that blocks your progress shortly after. It is here you will have to take a side path to find the way to lower the bridge. At some point on this side path, you will come to a fork, with some dark crystals. Those dark crystals will allow you to reach the ledge with the K Letter.

You will have to go through some boxes to gain access to the A Letter

The A Letter will be found after you get dropped to a lower section via a large trap door. As you continue through this area and drop down even further, you will see the Letter on a small island in the middle of an underground pond. Continue past that point, to a small room with Frogsters, then look for a stack of boxes on the side that block an opening. Break those boxes and you will be able to jump to the A Letter from there.

The O Letter is on the second level, at the end of the walkway

Once you reach the final room of the level, you will have to activate some lasers to destroy the machine powering the forcefield in the middle of the room, which is holding the wrench you need for Gadget. There are some boxes on the one side of the room, which you can use as stairs to reach the second level. Do that and journey to the end of the walkway to find the O Letter.
