Synopsis

Cedric, a Scavenger, runs a stall at the back of the market. He tries to give the usual cold shoulder to EVE, but this time he tells her a story.

The most important thing in Xion is energy. If you want to use energy for yourself, you have to get a power source from outside. Cedric reveals that he has set his sights on the Hypertube in the Great Desert. It is very likely that something valuable is hidden there, but no Scavenger has ever dared to search such a dangerous place.

Following up on what she learned, EVE enters the Hypertube. The facility appears to be intact, but most of the tube is destroyed and lost. EVE is then thrown out of the broken Hypertube.

The cargo transferred to the place must have met the same fate, as they are found damaged and abandoned… EVE searches the cave for the item Cedric asked for. For better or worse, she successfully finds an old-style Fusion Cell.

When she returns to Xion and shows Cedric what she found, he gets excited. Adam notices the Fusion Drive behind Cedric and points it out, making Cedric nervous. EVE places the fusion cell in the Fusion Drive. Then, a screen connected to it turns on to reveal someone’s face. Cedric finally shares the truth: he wanted to see his dead wife again.
