Over the course of the game you’ll find numerous tools for dispatching your foes, including numerous genre staples like the bomb, boomerang, bow, buckler and probably a few weapons whose names don’t start with “B”, too. While it’s hard to miss the starter versions of all these weapons, your more violent adventurer’s gear typically comes in three variants, denoted by a number of stars, with one-star weapons being the initial equips and three-star weapons being the highest quality, or “ultimate” weapons, if you prefer. Dealing more base damage with your weapons is good, but you’ll also get the Weapons Collector trophy/achievement for finding every weapon variant in The Adventures of Elliot: The Millennium Tales, and this page will provide the location of each one!

Page Breakdown

One-Star Weapons

Your basic equipment, you’ll either start with these or pick them up as part of progressing the main questline. You could technically ignore the big red chest containing the Scythe Chain and neglect to purcahse the Spinback boomerang, but these one-star weapons are generally very hard to miss.

Longsword

Your basic, starting sword. Can’t be missed.

Complete the mandatory quest “A Spear with a Past” to get your hands on this starter spear.

Sapling Spear

After exploring the Mist Ruins as part of the main questline in the Age of Safekeeping, you’ll unlock two side quests. Complete the side quest ”A Spear with a Past” to obtain this weapon. Despite being a side quest, completing it is, in fact, mandatory.

You’ll find the Heavy Hammer in a big red chest after defeating The Ratmobile boss. You need it to hammer down pegs and progress, so it’s not missable.

Heavy Hammer

In the Southern Caves - Desert Exit in the Age of Reconstruction. Defeat The Ratmobile boss and explore a passage to the west to find a big red chest. This weapon is inside. You need this to hammer down some posts to progress the main questline, so it can’t be missed.

Plunder a big red chest in the Rainbow Lotus dungeon to score the Scythe Chain weapon.

Scythe Chain

The last of the base weapons you’ll find, it can be found in the Rainbow Lotus dungeon in the Age of Safekeeping, where you’ll eventually be sent as part of the main questline. Work your way down to Rainbow Lotus - Sublevel One and go through the blue keep door along the northern edge of the level to find a big red chest. This weapon is inside.

Your first bow will be obtained when you complete the mandatory quest “A Good Old Bow”.

Short Bow

Same as the Sapling Spear above, save you’ll need to complete the side quest ”A Good Old Bow” after clearing the Mist Ruins in the Age of Safekeeping. This “side quest” is not optional and must be completed to progress the main story.

Buy the Spin Back from the Item Shop in Huther for a measly 50 tul.

Spinback

The first optional weapon of the game, you can buy this boomerang from the shop in Huther for 50 tul.

You will get the Bomb as part of the mandatory quest “Blow Your Troubles Away”.

Bomb

You’ll obtain this weapon as a reward for completing the side quest ”Blow Your Troubles Away” in the Age of Reconstruction. This is a mandatory quest, so this weapon cannot be missed.

Buckler

Your basic, starting shield. Can’t be missed.

Two-Star Weapons

Higher-quality variants of your basic gear, you’ll start finding these as you approach the Age of Magic. The Moonmirror can’t be missed and the Catalpa Bow, Dusk Sword and Strike Back are all placed in shops or in big red chests along routes the main questline leads you to, making them hard to miss, but some two-star weapons might take some elective exploration to find - a trend that will generally continue with the three-star variants.

The Dusk Sword dwells in a big red chest in the Doorway Ruins in the Age of Reconstruction era - solve a light beam/mirror puzzle to get it.

Dusk Sword

During the main quest you’ll need to travel to the Neverwither in search of a Doorway Ruins dungeon, which can be found northeast of the Neverwither adventurer’s guidepost. Solve some beam of light/mirror puzzles on the Doorway Ruins - Sublevel One floor to open a gate in the middle of said level, behind which dwells a big red chest. This sword is inside.

In a chest in the Western Caves in the Age of Magic.

Silver Spear

After you get the Western Caves Key from Carter in the Age of Magic, enter the Western Caves and inside you’ll find a big red chest. This spear is inside.

In the Doorway Ruins dungeon in Garretbelt, in the Age of Magic. Use the Vacuum spell to solve a puzzle to get access to the big red chest containing this weapon.

Black Iron

After you get the Western Caves Key from Carter in the Age of Magic, make your way through the Western Caves and into the Garretbelt region. Along the southern edge of these volcanic wastes you’ll find another Doorway Ruins dungeon. Make your way down the western stairs, to reach the western side of the Doorway Ruins - Sublevel One, then go down some stairs to the south to reach Doorway Ruins - Sublevel Two. The Black Iron hammer is on this level, near the center - you’ll need to use the [Vacuum spell] to solve a ball puzzle to access the big red chest containing it.

Blow up a vulnerable wall in the Secret Caves 1 area in the Age of Magic to find the chest containing this weapon.

Orochi

In a chest in the Secret Caves 1 area, in the Age of Magic. This is along the northern edge of the Whiterea region - just follow the cliffs east from the Northern Whiterea adventurers guidepost, climb a ladder to reach the high ledge this cave is on, then bomb the entrance to open it up. Just north of the entrance you’ll find another breakable wall past a gap. You either need to pick up a bomb, hold it into your hands until it’s about to explode, and throw it so it blows up the wall, or equip some Aggrandize magicite to increase the blast range, in which case the bomb will destroy the wall from the edge of the gap without having to throw it.

However you destroy this second wall, jump the gap to find a big red chest housing this upgraded scythe chain.

The Item Shop in the Age of Magic era has the Strike Back for sale for 275 tul.

Strike Back

Like the original Boomerang, this weapon is sold in the Item Shop Weyzn in the Age of Magic. It’ll set you back 275 tul.

The Catalpa Bow can be found in a big red chest in the Eastern Caves in the Age of Reconstruction era.

Catalpa Bow

After acquiring the Moonmirror shield you’ll need to return to the Age of Reconstruction to find another Doorway of Time. Talk to Heurich to get the Eastern Caves Key, which will allow you to enter the Eastern Caves. This bow is in a big red chest inside along the eastern edge of the Eastern Caves, but you’ll need to bomb a compromised wall and cross a gap to reach said chest. This gap is too far to reach by normal jumping, but you can cross it with the [Flutterer’s Cap accessory] or with the [Warp spell].

(1 of 2) You’ll find the Moonmirror,

You’ll find the Moonmirror, (left), and get its upgrade as part of the main questline, making them unmissable. (right)

Moonmirror

A magic shield found on the Rainbow Lotus - Innermost Area level. Defeat The Lord of the Maw boss and loot the big red chest afterwards. This is part of the main questline and cannot be missed. This shield will be upgraded in the Age of Magic, but will remain a two-star item.

Three-Star Weapons

The cream of the crop, the best of the best, the “ultimate” weapons, if you will. Naturally you won’t start finding these until mid-to-late-game, and some won’t become available until you’re on the [True Ending path].

then flood the room beyond, swim to a blue door and open it with your new key and open the big red chest beyond to get the Leytstaf sword.

Leytstaf

They legendary holy sword Leytstaf can be found in the depths of the Water Ruins (Age of Reconstruction). You will need the Diving Manual (also found in the Water Ruins) and you’ll need to be near the end of the main quesltine for the depths of the Water Ruins to become accessible - for a full walkthrough on obtaining this weapon, check out the page Leytstaf Location page.

Defeat the Frauki Don boss in the Falls Caves dungeon (Age of Magic) and loot a big red chest to find this ultimate spear.

Winnehild

Search the Falls Caves dungeon in the Age of Magic - you will need the ability to dive to reach this location. Progress through the dungeon and defeat the boss on the Falls Caves - Uppermost Level, after which you can loot a big red chest, obtaining this ultimate spear in the process.

Found in the Geared Ruins dungeon in the Age of Magic. You can only access this during the True Ending route. Solve a platforming puzzle with some laser-lined gears to reach the big red chest housing this ultimate hammer.

Judgment

Most likely the last ultimate weapon you’ll find, it dwells in the Geared Ruins in the Age of Magic, which cannot be accessed until the endgame after you’ve [found the Cat Sages] in the Age of Budding and Age of Reconstruction. Once done you’ll need to do some platforming to reach the Geared Ruins - Second Level area, then head to the northern edge of said area to find three gears with lasers on them. Jump over the lasers and work your way to the northwestern edge of the level to hit a pressure plate, opening a gate in the northeastern corner. Work your way over to the northeastern corner and loot the big red chest behind the gate to get this weapon.

Defeat the Elpand Generalissimo in the Fire Ruins and loot a big red chest to get this ultimate Scythe Chain.

Ouroboros

The ultimate scythe chain can be found in the depths of the Fire Ruins. Descend to the Fire Ruins - Sublevel Three and defeat the Elpand Generalissimo boss. Once victorious, go to a door to the west and open a big red chest to get this weapon.

Defeat the Bridd Brontomancer boss in the Forest Ruins (Age of Magic) and loot a big red chest to get this weapon.

Devil’s Gut

You’ll find this ultimate bow on the Forest Ruins - Fourth Level in the Age of Magic. Locating it isn’t much of a problem - defeat the Bridd Bronotmancer boss at the end of the dungeon and this chest will be in a big red chest just past the boss.

In the Dragonpillar dungeon in the Age of Blooming. On Dragonpillar - Sublevel One, use the Copy spell to solve a pressure plate puzzle to get access to the big red chest containing this weapon.

Death Spiral

The ultimate boomerang can be found in the Dragonpillar - Sublevel One dungeon in the Age of Blooming. You need to get the blue key, open a door and go down some stairs to reach the part of this level where the chest containing this weapon is located. Use the Copy spell to hit two floor panels and open the way to a big red chest, inside of which you’ll find the Death Spiral. You’ll come here during the main quest phase “Search for the child in Dragonpillar”, so you may very well find this without explicitly searching for it.

Complete the Adept’s Trial at the Temple of Trials to obtain this shield.

Aelfric’s Shield

This isn’t required for the Weapon’s Collector trophy, but it’s a three star bit of equipment that’s in the same part of the inventory as the rest of the weapons, so we figured we’d include it. Progress towards the [True Ending] and eventually the Adept’s Trial will become available at the Temple of Trials. Complete it and you’ll get this shield as your reward. Alas, most of the game is over by this point, so you won’t be using it in many fights…
