How to Get Clay

By
Seren Morgan-Roberts

This page offers a guide on how to obtain "Clay" iconClay in Grounded. Clay is an important resource for making Repair Tools and make lots of different things for your base.

Where to Find Clay

Before you can obtain clay, you’ll first need to make an "Acorn Shovel" iconAcorn Shovel. The Acorn Shovel recipe is unlocked when you analyze an acorn shell or crude rope at the Resource Analyzer. Head over to our guide on how to make an acorn shovel for more information.

Once you’ve got the acorn shovel, head out to a pond or puddle to locate red rocks. They’ll be found around the edges of the water, or you can dive into deeper waters and find clay at the bottom. You’ll need to hit these rocks several times to dig it up, then you can pick up smaller bits of clay from the rocks. You’ll get several bits of clay from one clay boulder.

Clay can be shovelled from red rocks under water and around it.
