All Like A Dragon: Infinite Wealth Party Members

By
Echo Apsey

Now that we are fully into the Ichiban-led era of Like A Dragon, after establishing the game as a turn-based RPG in 2020’s Yakuza: Like A Dragon, RGG Studio has added even more characters to fight alongside in its sequel. In fact, there are a good number of Like A Dragon: Infinite Wealth party members both returning and new, each with their own storylines, Drink Links, and bonds to increase as you grow closer to them over the course of the Like A Dragon Infinite Wealth chapters.

In this guide you can find a detailed overview of each of the party members, covering everything you will need to know as you make your way through Infinite Wealth’s behemoth story.

Ichicban leads the party as he heads to Hawaii

Ichiban Kasuga

Ichiban "Kasuga" iconKasuga is the main protagonist of Like A Dragon Infinite Wealth. He is a loveable, loyal, and steadfast man who wears his heart on his sleeve, caring for those around him. While this has led to victories, it can often get him into a lot of trouble or in situations that aren’t easy to get himself out of.

In Infinite Wealth, we find Ichiban working at "Hello Work" iconHello Work in Japan trying to earn an honest living and helping former Yakuza members find employment. However, events lead to him falling on hard times, and ends up on a personal journey to Hawaii to find his mother. However, upon arriving what he went for isn’t as easy to find as he hoped and Ichiban finds himself making enemies fast - as he ends up embroiled in gang wars and meeting some familiar and new faces.

The beloved hero finds himself with just months to live after being diagnosed with cancer. Weakened by the illness, "Kiryu" iconKiryu teams up with Kasuga to help him on his quest. At the same time, he is given a mission by the Daidoji: to find a woman named Akane Kishida in Hawaii.

However, after faking his death, a local Japanese-American Yakuza thug, "Yutaka Yamai" iconYutaka Yamai, is surprised to see The Dragon of Dojima and pursues him and Kasuga through Hawaii.

Kiryu’s available jobs are Action Star, Aquanaut, Breaker, Chef, Desperado, Dragon of Dojima, Host, Linebacker, Pyrodancer, and Samurai.

Tomizawa isn’t quick to make friends with Ichiban, but he does become a loyal companion before long.

Eric Tomizawa

A local taxi driver in Hawaii, "Eric Tomizawa" iconEric Tomizawa is one of the first people Kasuga meets after getting off the plane. However, he ends up sticking around for longer than Kasuga thought, teaming up with the loveable protagonist and aiding him and Kiryu on their shared quests.

Adachi’s available jobs are Action Star, Aquanaut, Breaker, Chef, Desperado, "Detective" iconDetective, Host, Linebacker, Pyrodancer, and Samurai.

Nanba is a welcome face to see for Ichiban after spending some time in Hawaii.

Zhao plays it cool on the streets of Japan late in the game.

Tianyou Zhao

"Zhao" iconZhao returns as a playable character here, with his variety of attacks and moves that will mean he has a huge impact on fights, especially those with tough enemies. You will need to play a good chunk of the game to have him in your party, however.

Joongi is the last party member Ichiban gets on his team.

Excelling in fist-fighting, Joongi returns to Kiryu’s side pretty late in Like A Dragon Infinite Wealth. However, he will be a huge help as you wrap up the chapters of the game and move into the endgame.

How to unlock all party members in Like A Dragon Infinite Wealth

Like previous games in the series, you can’t miss any party members as they all naturally filter in and out of your party throughout the story,

Each party member is unlocked in these chapters during Like A Dragon Infinite Wealth:

- Ichiban Kasuga - unlocked in chapter 1
- "Koichi Adachi" iconKoichi Adachi - unlocked in chapter 1 and in chapter 7
- Nanba - unlocked in chapter 1 and in chapter 7
- "Kazuma Kiryu" iconKazuma Kiryu - unlocked in chapter 3
- Eric Tomizawa - unlocked in chapter 3
- Chitose - unlocked in chapter 4
- Seonhee - unlocked in chapter 8
- Saeko - unlocked in chapter 8
- "Tianyou Zhao" iconTianyou Zhao - unlocked in chapter 10
- "Joongi Han" iconJoongi Han - unlocked in chapter 10 and chapter 13

How to unlock Ichiban Kasuga

The main protagonist of Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth, you’ll directly control him most of the game, up to chapter 8 when the party splits into a Hawaii team and a Japan team. You must be especially cautious with Ichiban in battle as if he is defeated, you’ll lose the fight entirely!

Ichiban, Adachi and Nanba reunite to form your first real party early in the game.

How to unlock Koichi Adachi

Adachi joins (along with Nanba) near the end of chapter 1, just before you head to the Seiryu Clan HQ. He’ll stay with Ichiban until chapter 2 when Ichiban leaves for Hawaii. Adachi and Nanba will both rejoin the party in chapter 7 after they meet up with Ichiban in Hawaii.

How to unlock Nanba

Like Adachi, Nanba will join Ichiban in chapter 1, before you go pay a visit to the Seiryu Clan HQ. Nanba stays behind in Yokohama when Ichiban flies to Hawaii in chapter 2 but will later rejoin the party in Chapter 7. Unlike Adachi, Nanba will leave the party during the transition between chapter 7 and chapter 8.

Kiryu will join the party in Chapter 3.

How to unlock Kiryu

The primary protagonist of the Yakuza series (not including Yakuza: Like a Dragon), he is available at the start of chapter 3 and remains with Ichiban in Hawaii until the end of chapter 6. After this, he leaves the party during the transition in chapter 7, before later returning in chapter 8.

Despite a rough start, Ichiban’s irresistible charm eventually wins over Tomizawa in Chapter 3.

How to unlock Eric Tomizawa

While Ichiban and Tomizawa initially get off on the wrong foot, after you visit Akane’s house for the second time, circumstances will see them teaming up against a mutual antagonist. After this, Tomizawa becomes Ichiban’s most steadfast ally in Hawaii from chapter 3 onwards (at least until the cavalry arrives in the form of Nanba and Adachi in chapter 7).

Chitose will join the party near the end of Chapter 4, and will be by your side from Chapter 5 onwards.

How to unlock Chitose

Like Tomizawa, Ichiban and Chitose have a contentious first encounter. Eventually, you’ll be tasked with pursuing the elusive Chitose into District Five, an area with a recommended level of 13. During the story dungeon in District Five, you’ll encounter Chitose, who subsequently joins the party (technically she doesn’t officially join until the start of chapter 5, but you control her in chapter 4), and she’ll stick around for quite a while thereafter, becoming a key component in team Hawaii.

Seonhee joins the Japan team early in Chapter 8.

How to unlock Seonhee

Although Seonhee appeared in Yakuza: Like a Dragon, she apparently never felt compelled to get her hands dirty in support of Ichiban’s crusade. She’ll unlock in chapter 8 with the newly formed Japan team. If you did a bit of grinding back in Hawaii, she may be somewhat underpowered compared to other characters. Therefore, you’ll certainly need to play catchup with leveling her up, alongside Saeko.

Returning from the first game, Saeko doesn’t become playable until she joins the Japan team in Chapter 8.

How to unlock Saeko

Another returning face from the first game, Saeko is content to remain an NPC at the beginning of the game. Upon returning to Japan, Saeko will unlock in Chapter 8 in Yokohama. You’ll end up recruiting Saeko after you complete the batting minigame.

How to unlock Tianyou Zhao

Tianyou Zhao will join the Japan team in chapter 10 as the story really picks up. He will be a key ally in dealing damage as enemies get much harder on the streets of Japan.

How to unlock Joongi Han

Joongi will join the Japan team in Chapter 10, before reuniting with Ichiban in chapter 13.

That covers all of the party members in the game, their available jobs, and when you can unlock them. Once you get to the final act of the game you will be able to freely switch between everyone on this list.
