How to Increase Satisfaction and Popularity Points on Dondoko Island

By
Jessica Dillon

If you want to restore Dondoko Island in Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth, then you are going to need to learn about its point system. You can earn two types of points on the island: satisfaction points and popularity points. Earning them can be a bit confusing at first and becomes quite a chore as you progress in resort ranking if you don’t have a plan. The guide below breaks down the two-point system to help you get the most out of your time on Dondoko Island.

Points are required to expand the Dondoko Island Resort.

What Are Popularity and Satisfaction Points on Dondoko Island?

If you are interested in the Dondoko Island side story, then you will need to raise your resort rating. This is done by clearing parts of the island, along with increasing your popularity points and satisfaction points. Each resort level requires you to earn a predetermined amount of these points before you can raise your rating. Things can become a little muddled when trying to get points fast, so the sections below take a look at both types of points and how to earn them.

How to Increase Satisfaction Points

Satisfaction points are directly linked to how your island looks. While it’s not as in-depth as some other game decoration systems, the basics are still here. You grow satisfaction by placing furniture around the island. Each piece of furniture has its own point value that you can see before crafting it and when placing it. It doesn’t matter where you place these items as long as there’s room to put them down. In addition, removing an item will cause your satisfaction points to go back down.

If you are just focused on getting your satisfaction points up quickly, then sort the furniture you can build by what gives you the most points. Typically, the harder the materials are to come by, or the more it takes to create the furniture piece, the higher the points will be. The same is true for furniture that unlocks at higher ranks. The items placed inside Ichiban’s house have no effect on this rating, nor do the lodgings. The same is true if you place the gardening kits after they unlock. Tourists have no influence on your island’s satisfaction rating, but the furniture you place is a key part of making them happy.

(1 of 3) You will need to decorate the island to gain satisfaction points.

Along with points, each piece of furniture has a corresponding category it belongs to. For example, buildings like the bar will increase the sleazy level of your island. You will need to keep this in mind when placing furniture to try and keep a balance of the four item types to keep your guests happy. Don’t worry if you need to move things around. Losing points after you’ve earned a new resort level won’t cause your game to revert.

How to Increase Popularity Points

Popularity Points are a different beast entirely and, once again, have nothing to do with tourists visiting your island. The main way to increase your popularity is by filling out the Dondokopedia or by placing furniture. Just like with satisfaction points, furniture has a popularity ranking, and you can even sort by the furniture that gets you the most points. To do this, you will need to find items lying around the island, creating souvenirs, catching bugs, and fishing. Each time you find an item, it will automatically be added to your Dondokopedia at popularity rank one. This is a set scale of the points you gain for each discovery you make. To make things simple, we have translated how many points you get for each item-level into the chart below.

Item Popularity Level Points
Popularity Rank One 20 Points
Popularity Rank Two 80 Points
Popularity Rank Three 100 Points
Popularity Rank Four 100 Points
Popularity Rank Five 200 Points

(1 of 3) You will gain popularity points by collecting items.

To increase an item’s popularity rank, you must find it multiple times. The rarer the item, the fewer times you need to find it to increase its popularity level. You can use your Dodokopedia to see how close you are to reaching the next popularity level, but for the most part this will increase naturally as you will be gathering materials to build furniture and sell for more money. The higher the popularity level, the more the item will sell for at Matayoshiya Furnishings. Once you unlock the ability to make commercials at Resort Rank Three, you will also gain popularity from paying to air a commercial.
