Karaoke Minigame Guide - Like A Dragon: Infinite Wealth

By
Jarrod Garripoli

The Like A Dragon series has always contained plenty of minigames, one of which has been a staple throughout all of the series, Karaoke. Of course, Karaoke is back again in Like A Dragon: Infinite Wealth, with there being a lot of songs returning from previous games, as well as a few new ones. This page will list all of the songs you can encounter during Karaoke, as well as how to play the Karaoke minigame.

Karaoke hasn’t really changed much throughout the games, but it’s always fun to see the videos.

Where to Play Karaoke in Like A Dragon: Infinite Wealth

There are multiple places where you can play the Karaoke minigame in Infinite Wealth, since you visit different areas throughout the game. The first one you will have access to in the very early chapters is the bar, Survive, in Yokohama. Once you make it to Hawaii, you will have another bar where you can partake in the musical stylings of Ichiban "Kasuga" iconKasuga, which is called "Revolve" iconRevolve. There is even a spot in Kamurocho, when you visit that area of the game, called Karaokeken.

(1 of 3) Survive is one spot for doing Karaoke in Yokohama.

It should be noted that none of the Karaoke spots will unlock new songs for you to play, as that is tied to your party. When you initially unlock Revolve in Hawaii, you will only have songs playable for both Ichiban and "Kiryu" iconKiryu. As you gain new party members for your team, you will unlock more songs at Karaoke. It should be noted that "Eric Tomizawa" iconEric Tomizawa does not have any songs, which might be tied to the fact that his Japanese VA is actually the lead vocalist for a band (speculation).

How to Play Karaoke in Infinite Wealth

There are a few options whenever you choose to play Karaoke, depending solely on if Ichiban is the lead singer or not. If you choose a song for Ichiban, then you only have one option to Sing. If you choose a song for another character, then you have two options, one for Casual Backup and one for Passionate Backup. There’s technically no difference between the two, but Casual Backup will cap your score to 90, while Passionate Backup will allow you to get a full score of 100.

The goal of Karaoke is to simply hit the designated notes as they pass the heavier line towards the left side. Hit it perfectly and you will see Great, but it’s possible to get lower ratings if you don’t time it right, hit the wrong button or completely miss it. In addition to the normal button presses, there are instances where you must hold a button or press it rapidly. As you keep up with pressing the correct buttons, you will initiate a combo, and at a 20-combo, you have Heat Mode. This just means you’re doing very well and keeping it in Heat Mode will eventually showcase a special video at some point during the song.

All Karaoke Personality Challenges

There are no direct trophies/achievements related to Karaoke, but it does count as a minigame and you need to play 10 of those for the Having Fun Yet? trophy/achievement. However, there are a number of Personality Challenges for Karaoke (the completion list for Infinite Wealth), although you don’t have to do too much. You will simply need to score 90+ points on 10 different songs and simply sing Karaoke a total of 20 times (score doesn’t matter there). Note that songs that have two different lead singers will only count as a single entry for the first challenge. Playing this minigame gives you a very minor boost to the "Passion" iconPassion Personality Trait.
